All posties in the Dundee east office have walked out this morning in protest against a collegue who we feel has been unfairly dissmised....

I wonder if it will have an effect on the rest of Dundee?

The sheetheads that pass for managers in Royal Mail are the same all over, mate.
I personally agree with you, we should all be out on all-out strike until the bodgers in the Royal Mail boardroom cave in. And, cave in, they most certainly would, eventually.

The biggest problem is that many long serving guys just seem to keep their heads down, do whatever the managers tell them, without a fight, no backbone.

I thought the days were long gone when as soon as someone , anyone in the office was intimidated, the mail went down and everyone sat in the canteen.
Today, there was a glimmer of hope, the posties are at their wits end.

However, i feel tomorrow, local union reps will trot out the usual, get back to work, the appeal will take place in due course etc, and the result shall be as its always been, another long serving full timer sacked, and replaced by a part time person who will only last a few weeks, more money saved, more work for less postman, more bullying to do more work.

Some of those senior boys in there take it too, thats the thing!!!!

Dundee East are sick and tired of all the bullying; harassment and antics of a management who 'DICTATE' to us and break every National Agreement in the book.

The sacking of one our colleagues who is one of the most mild mannered and placid posties going. Upset and angered all of us. Are today's RM managers so brain washed that they cannot see the injustice dealt out?

I am a senior postman at the office and have NEVER SCABBED or been posted missing in backing the CWU.
But, if this injustice is not rectified then, sorry there is no hope left for any of us!

Is this the Future for RM?

Where free speech and having a point of view is being squeezed out of us all by a new agressive management.

For something that happened months ago, guy had a right barny wi the lady line manager, who runs to big boss, who always yakes matters all the way " im progressing this"

These f***ers are so confrontational, and wont answer any questions/queries anyone has.
This executive action has to be stopped, its a green light for managers to piss us right off, grind us down, intimidate and pick off anyone who takes the bait.

I would hazard a guess we will have another day tomorrow without wages

Royal Mail are using the current economic trade to basically frighten workers into doing anything. The Cold War has ended but communism is certainly high within RM.
No FREE speach and if you break/bend rules your punished but if your an MP or RM manager you get away with it. MP expenses scanda OH lets brush it under the carpet. Oh manager makes wrong descission,Oh it executive and thats fine also. Why did those brave men fight in the wars, for us to have a better life.
