Whilst we are all getting angry at what is going on we also need to discuss soloutions, as we would be foolish to belive that any agreement will not envolve savings. here are some ideas.
Remove Saturday working just deliver Specials packets and redeliverys. Support this by paying a premium rate of Overtime. this will create job loses but will enhance those that remain terms and conditions.
Get a shorter working week, This both protects jobs and conditions.
Take a big pay rise and negotiate an absorbtion system that works and allows more prime time leave, also increase anuall leave to 8 weeks for all, this protects jobs.
Combine shorter working week with no saturday attendence but a four day week structure, longer mondays. Either saves jobs or creates earnings potential. this works on the line of better have 20,000 good jobs than 50,000 rubish jobs.
None of the above are the be all and end all but we need to discuss soloutions as I belive both the CWU and Royal Mail are short of imagentive thinking at the momment.And i have loads more.
Lets hear from people that absorb are there any benfits?
But we need to remain millitant at the momment or there will be no oppitunity for any meaning full talks just surrender terms
