Crossing picket lines

On the picket line tomorrow fed up with drivers showing us the standard ltb. Fed up with drivers showing letters from reps as to why they should be able to cross if you are a trade unionist you do not cross picket lines no more letters no more excuses

so i take it that us who work at prdc are not unionist as we had to cross the picket line 3 weeks ago when the union called a strike for the drivers on one day and the indoor staff the next day, so what so we do leave the union.

thats what management want

Simple fact is if no one crossed whatever section your in the strike would be over now and we would not have to wait for a national ballot. It's a nonsense when we have agency drivers turning round and our members waiving excuse me letters

yes you are very right, but no one wants a unoffical strike (only royal mail) this should have been a national ballot not local ones, so until we get the yes vote on sept 25th, will just have to put up with it. you are protected by the union on your strike days as it is offical, but the royal mail driver's which are showing you that letter from billy hayes are not protected, and could be sacked if refuse to cross, as they are being told that they must work normal.

I know it causes problems with different sections out on different days but iknow some of the faces with the excuse me Letters will be the same Ones who will work when thenational ballot returns a yes vote I also know there are decent men who really do not want to cross help give strength to these and expose the rest for what they are keep the faith

Spot on wardog but we have to accept we are in the minority havnt had a full weeks pay for a few weeks now official or unofficial to my knowledge nobody has been dismissed for not crossing old saying but united we stand divided we fall keep the faith

Yes mate, work normal.
Would you cross a picket line across a factory gate if you were delivering their mail ? ...Well i wouldn't !
My attitude has always been that if things are that bad in the factory that the workforce feel that striking is their last resort, who am i to compromise it. I would just take the mail back to the office.
As for crossing a picket line formed by my own union, that's a non starter, and frankly, a joke. No letter from Billy Hayes, or even Billy Bunter is going to convince me that it's okay. I have my own principles and i will not water them down, certainly not for this company. If i'm to be stopped a days wage for every time i refuse to cross my own unions picket line, so be it. If they want to take it further, and suspend me, so be it.

When we were on strike in 2007 , we had a member of the public turn up to collect a parcel, he really did not want to cross the picket line i think it took us about 15 minutes to persuade him it was not a problem, he said he had never crossed a picket line, and wasn't happy doing so now, even though it wasn't his union.
