my office is full of dummies
after being told the absorbtion work was being forced on us yesterday monday, we had a meeting stating that we would be working to rule no use of cars, no coming in early, and taking meal relief, do the job right. this started yesterday and finished today, back to normal routine. i dont know what all the other offices are like, but i would just like to say what a bunch of gutless fools they all are in our office. the people have never stuck together and never will all individuals. what a bunch of losers they really are

Re: my office is full of dummies
It really does frighten me, when I think how gutless a fair percentage of British people have become. I mean, 20, 30 years ago, 99.9% of all postalworkers would have been up in arms, then on the gate, the moment a millionaire cretin like Crozier called them overpaid, lazy, barstewards.
I dunno........I'd hate to be 20 again today. Never have the younger generation been less envied by old codgers like me.

Re: my office is full of dummies
I couldn't agree more Rob37. It's exactly the same in my office. Most cut corners, and then have the gall to complain that their rep is no good! The best rep in the world cannot be effective if the members that he/she represents do not stick together. Unity is strength! I will be pointing this out at our next members meeting on Thursday. I hope they listen.
And even when they became discontented, their discontent led nowhere, because, being without general ideas, they could only focus it on petty specific grievances. The larger evils invariably escaped their notice.

This is pretty much what our rep called a lot of us to our faces. In fact, he went a bit further and suggested that maybe we we were non-compos mentisrobert37uk wrote:after being told the absorbtion work was being forced on us yesterday monday, we had a meeting stating that we would be working to rule no use of cars, no coming in early, and taking meal relief, do the job right. this started yesterday and finished today, back to normal routine. i dont know what all the other offices are like, but i would just like to say what a bunch of gutless fools they all are in our office. the people have never stuck together and never will all individuals. what a bunch of losers they really are
Plus we've still got people not taking breaks and coming in early. So whilst the car use has gone down somewhat it hasn't made a great deal of difference and very few are cutting off. Those that are cutting off are of course being targetted - they're accused of going slow and are seeing their pay stopped or the threat of it is there!

I could not agree with your post more, it is a shame to see some of the cowards we have to work with!DirtyHarry wrote:It really does frighten me, when I think how gutless a fair percentage of British people have become. Thank god, i thought our office was the only one.
To be honest i truly worry for the mental health of some of my colleagues.
I understand that not everyone buys into my opinions, but surely they can see the merit of doing their jobs properly.
Even if they don't give a monkies about the job, surely they want to ensure their future in the company is as secure as possible.

Re: my office is full of dummies
believe it or not but we actually have people who come in over an hour before their start time , usually throwing in 3 trays of walksort , sometimes more before their start time, complete madness , as for starting to do our duties correctly etc, unfortunately we are about 6 or 7 years too late, we should have nipped all this in the bud but unfortunately it has now gone too far and 20 years of experience with this mob tells me that royal mail will introduce any proposals they wish ,a strike just delays it , i still agree with striking though as if we are going to go down we might as well go down fighting but it will only delay the inevitable .jockstrapp wrote:The same in my office, a bunch of gutless bast@rds.
