B.S.I.100

Bothers and sister could any one of you out there please give me some details on B.S.I. 100. The rumour mill is running ten to the dozen that this is in fact the dreaded Indoor Work Tool. If so what guide lines has the C.W.U. drawn up for it? Is it to be the same muck up as Geo-route and Pegasus? Has anyone had the planers in and started using this system yet?
If so should i be worried

BSI 100 doesn't actually exist - it is a standard wished for by all greedy business managers that assumes (or demands) that all participating staff and systems perform at 1oo% efficiency and 100% capacity for 100% of the time available (presumably 100%).

Royal mail management maintain that all staff should be able to achieve this standard and refuse to accept that anything goes wrong to disrupt the flow that earns their bonuses. However they are not human and cannot see where the plan falls down, i.e. WE ARE HUMAN. We are not numbers, not machines and certainly not prepared to die for a business that doesn't care about us.

All you need to know is that it would be impossible to achieve unless it was a perfect world. And RM is a long way from that.

Bull s**t Index ,when your manager mentions this in two consecutive wtll sessions he has achieved 100 bsi, and you will then get walksorted flats

Ask your Manager to demonstrate what this is.
You will probably be able to sort at least twice as fast,
so you will be performing at 200% BSI.

Questions to ask at WTLL when a numpty manager comes out with 100%BSI

1.Ask what this looks like
2.What does this consist of
3.How do the managment team plan to impliment this
4.If your attatched to a Mail Centre ask about the BSI rate of the machines,if they were running to 100%BSI then they would not make any errors or break down.
5.Ask what BSI rate his/her managers are running at.
Always remember that you are a person even if under provacation from Royal Mail and the important thing to remember is always remember if all else fails then they have to re-train staff,you have to train staff in the first place to be able to follow what the firm set out in thier own bull.
So to you all keep smiling no matter what because it will wipe the smile of the managers face because they dont have the answers themselves.

I noticed today BSI rates signs stuck to the side of the IPS frames, can't remember the per minute numbers but the hourly rate for letters was nearly 1500 items and flats 1168per hour. I doubt these will ever be achievable as they keep changing the duties, so takes time to learn again.

25 items per minute for letters or 1 item every 2.4 secs

19 items per minute for flats or 1 item every 3.15 secs
