Some of the stories I am hearing about on here sound terrible. What are the experiences of others about the country? I can honestly say that although I have seen some difficulties regarding the implementation of the 2007 agreement, overall things aren't that bad. I have only seen one instance of what could be regarded as bullying and harassment in our office. Things seem to be ticking over ok and there seems to be some respect and dignity in the office.
I say this because, of course, there is a national strike ballot coming up and for people in my position, the decision will be a more difficult one.
Thank you for any input.....

Re: What is going on where you are?
Been talking to my postman today, who had a parcel for me as luck would have it and he is not happy and is well up for a bit of IA. Bloke is in his fifties and probably wants to see out his time to retirement quitely. The message that has got to be put across to the public, is that it is not the postman that is ruining the service that the public want and expect, but probably 100% of RM management who don't give a toss about a public service but only care about lining their trousers with bonuses. But you knew that anyway. This is in my part of North Norfolk. Please keep up the fight, you blueshirts can't afford to lose and neither can the public. Please don't look to the short term and worry about bills, they can be sorted out. When you have a job, where you find you can't pay bills long term, then your problems start. Rant Over

Re: What is going on where you are?
It sounds like you've been lucky so far. There are still some places that haven't been affected yet. But the numbers are decreasing all the time.
As for the B&H problems. A lot of that, is caused by impossible savings targets, being given to the Managers. Who then buckle under the pressure, and Posties suffer for it. Sadly it's Human Nature. But that doesn't help those who're on the recieving end.
Hopefully, we'll be able to do something about the situation, before anyone else ends up in that mess. Only time will tell.

Getting really dis-heartened with CWU. Our rep is agreeing thing with DOM behind our back, not discussing anything with us

Re: What is going on where you are?
TBH our office works fine. No mail/walks are ever left in, it's very rare for anyone to cut off, Pegasus review took 0 hours out so they're just evening up the current walks instead, which is better for us. We do collapse but it's no problem, a 10th of a walk isn't much - I have a feeling the collapsing is going to carry on after the summer period though which may cause some friction.

10th of a walk this year...20th next year...half the year after...double duties in 2013. If you keep doing more you will get more.OnAFlyer wrote:TBH our office works fine. As long as it's within my hours (minus half an hour for using the car as i'm not stupid enough to use it so I can finish at my time!) I couldn't give a monkeys what they give me, i'll work to my time then it goes back.pickaname wrote:10th of a walk this year...20th next year...half the year after...double duties in 2013. Re: What is going on where you are?
WTL today imforms us tht ther splitting up 6 walks in the office which to me sounds like job loses? what there doing is giving everyone an extra 50 houses a day to do which to me sounds complete bolloxs! this comes into force next week and tbh i can see all our staff walking out over it! r manager is a bell end btw lol
