not a reserve??
Hi everyone when i started working for rm i thought i would be working at the same office everyday but 2 days before i was due to start i was asked to report to a differant office. i've since been informed that i am a 'reserve' and can be sent just about anywhere ( and trust me they have). at no time during the inverview or at the time i was offered the job was this made clear to me. Is there anything i can do about this?? could the union help me?? thanks

It will say somewhere in your contract that you agree to work in other offices unfortunately. Make sure you just work your time and allow travelling as counting towards your duty.
...or say you sold your car and you need to borrow a van or something. Make it as inconvenient as possible for your managers. I made mine give me petrol money once

Tell your DOM your car is off the road, dont carry a mobile or cash with you at work. when my car was off the road my 'manager' still made me go to an office 12 miles and 2 bus journeys away from where i live. it cost me £8 a day just to get to work. he didnt care about my circumstanses at all. i was having to leave my house at 7am for a 9 oclock start. what a w****r. how do you stop being a 'reserve'?? is it just a case of applying for jobs when they become available??

Also you cannot start work at another office until your work place records are transferred to wherever you are going to otherwise you are not insured.
If you are driving your own vehicle to the other office make sure you have a written note from your DOM stating that the other office will be your place of work for that day otherwise your insurance on your car will be invalid .
