ladies health issues
Can a union rep tell me what the policy is when it comes to female staff and the menopause. Ive just been given a stage 1 for a menopause related problem. If companies are going to employ women then surely they should have a policy when it comes to dealing with absence caused by the menopause.

I am just guessing here but as the Menopause is a long term condition perhaps its covered under the DDA laws. Have found a good page on the TSSA pages that might help http://www.tssa.org.uk/article-47.php3?id_article=1011" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

Apparently there is also LTB 432 dated 14/05/09 - Male and Female Menopause Fact Sheet - Linda Roy but no link or downloadable copy on the site - might be worth emailing Linda

Get onto your area rep. and make sure RM know you're going to take this further if it's a problem that only affect women then they are discriminating against you (we had one woman who suffered a miscarriage and was given a stage for it but it was withdrawn pretty quickly whenever the area rep. got involved).

And what about the mid-life crisis, often referred to as the 'male menopause', that many of us men suffer from ?
i could do with a couple of weeks off with that now.

get a motorbike or a sports car and don't end up like Paul Weller - Joking apart this women's issue needs looking at , plenty of solicitors looking for work and RM have been threatened with monitoring by the Equal Opportunities CommissionLounge Lizard wrote:And what about the mid-life crisis, often referred to as the 'male menopause', that many of us men suffer from ?

Re: ladies health issues
Ive just added another post about this topic, but ive lost it, anyone seen it?
As far as I know its not covered under the dda, and I do feel im being discriminated against, its a horrible thing us women have to go through and I feel ive had no support whatsoever. Our old manager was really good even though I had grown horns and was launching into everyone, but we now have a new manager and ive had no support from him. I thought I would of got replies of women than men which makes me think that you guys do have a heart. Thanks

Forgot to mention I even went private to see a consultant as my hospital appointment was to long to wait, I couldn't be fairer than than that. Yes, it really does stick in my throat.

I did get this from a charrie shop - it was obviously a unwanted present as it seemed new for £3 for someone that used to religiously read " Jackie " - she said she'd tears rolling down her face at the bit where you try a different faddy diet everyday . Most of the reviews on Amazon were good .disgruntledpostie1 wrote:bella wrote:Ive just added another post about this topic, but ive lost it, anyone seen it?

Joking apart - I think with this TNT Holland "vision " that RM have , it'll be only bits of kids that will be able to keep up , many of these parcel firms are slave drivers too - everybody else will end up only fit for the knackers yard with injuries etc - male or female
