Surely we should be ballotted seperately as our concerns are not usually the same as MC staff.

It will be all postal grades OPG and OPG support , LAs etc. We have all go the same concerns regarding pay , paying for change , complusory redundancies and transfers and network changes, shorter working week etc. Of course we have differnt functional issues to resolve but it is right that it is only one ballot.

If Royal Mail as expected announce the closing of the pension scheme for existing members then the ballot will also include conters and all other grades. The closing of our pension scheme is a very real possiblity and all our moans about the previous changes will be nothing compared to the fact that you will no longer have a pension which is linked to your retirement but a closed scheme.

Different functional changes means it should be a seperate ballot, I'd imagine MC's have more staff in the union than D.O's, so once MC's get the best deal for them its game over, its always been the same.

I think there are more delivery posties than MC OPGs actually.

Baldrick is right there are double the number of delivery staff then their are mail centre staff.

I have never understood why MC's and D.O's are balloted together, our working conditions and yours are way different.

Why we're all working for the same firm. and have the same union.

I have not got the national figures but do know that there are over double the amount of delivery members then there are processing.

In regards to London we have 8000 delivery members , 2300 processing and the remainder appox 2000 are distrubution , network and RDC members and OPS grades.
