Scheduled Attendance Lump Sum

In my pay last week was a small amount added for "Scheduled Attendance Lump Sum", not unwelcome but unexpected, so can anyone on here explain it ?

Twice a year anyone who has done scheduled attendance in the previous year gets this payment. It is based on the average number of SA hours worked per week and is paid to cover the loss of SA earnings while you are on leave.

I think we all do it over Christmas to an extent without knowing it, I got £4 odd but I don't do SA either.

Everyone in our office used to get 1hr SA a day through Christmas pressure. They stopped this last year though.

You're only eligable to claim it as S/A, if you sign a contract in advance, or are covering someone elses S/A, while they're off work (Holiday or Sick Leave for example). Otherwise it's PRESSURE O/T. Which is paid at a lower rate. Although, this isn't the first time, I've heard of Managers "bending the rules". To get people to agree to do extra Overtime.

Christmas OT was always SA in my office, 1 hour in the morning and 8 hours for your day off, I don't know what it was last year because I didn't do any.

Sounds like you got a few minutes SA last year (about 15 min I guess), possibly by mistake. You may well not have noticed when it happened. If so, you've won ! Treasure the moment, they are so few...
