hi mate not good news for you here im afraid this is how it works---Stage 2: 2 absences or 10 days in any 6 month period during the next 12 months.
its even worse if you are a new entrant on trial----Stage 2: 1 absence in the next 2 months.

HI Mate
You should check with your CWU rep,but I believe that if your doctor confirms it is swine flu then the World Health Organisation declares it to be a pandemic outbreak this abscence should not be counted. :hmmmm

There was some bits in the propaganda times this month.

If you have been told you have Swine Flu, then you will be off work for 7-14 days and you are going to probably hit Stage 3.

My advice would be get your Tamiflu box photocopied to show that you have infact had suspected Swine Flu, and make sure your DOM puts the illness down as suspected Swine Flu and not just Influenza, lastly make sure that you take your Union Rep in with you to any interview and make sure that Swine Flu is recorded in the minutes of that interview as the reason you were off, do not sign the interview notes unless that appears on it. A tribunal would not stand for RM dismissing someone who has had Swine Flu, hope this helps mate.

My stage 2 wil be finished this month but AOD in January resulted in a week off and recently 3 days as I'm still having trouble with my knee after the AOD, so where do I stand regarding clearing stages? :hmmmm

If you are on a stage through an AOD it should be discounted but as we all know it is very different on the day as you have had one absence it is defo no good if you have another even if it is an AOD or swine flu!. BUT IF YOU WERE TO GET SACKED YOU MUST TAKE IT TO A TRIBUNAL AS ROYALMAIL ONLY HOPE YOU DO NOT AS THEY HAVE VERY SHARP PRACTICES!.

Did you not get a copy of the procedure as this is a requirement that the procedure is explained to improve attendance and not be seen as a punishment!.
