lad in our office been off on the sick posted on his profile update last week that he had "finished flagging the back garden and was now chilling out with a few beers ",now that all seems fine to me and none of my business to be fair, but to some one else it must have pissed them off a bit, cos it was pointed out to the dom in work the following day.need less to say a letter form the dom to this lads house was fired of the same day.so be carefull of what you post about your self on sites like facebook or myspace cos we are being watched and some times its your so called friends that are doing it

Re: facebook
I suppose I should set up a Facebook profile but I'm sure RM can find out everything I think just by reading this site
PS I understand what you mean about being careful about what you post on any internet site, it's been brought up before about people being punished for things they've posted on this site.

Re: facebook
To be perfectly honest, I've very little sympathy for him. I've had more than my fair share of health problems in the past. Although I've not been on a stage now, for a couple of years. And have first had knowledge of the hassle that Managers seem to think is acceptable. So if someone who actually WAS faking an illness, got caught, then tough. I know that sounds harsh. But the more people there are faking it, the more hassle the genuine cases have.ashtoninho wrote:lad in our office been off on the sick posted on his profile update last week that he had "finished flagging the back garden and was now chilling out with a few beers ",now that all seems fine to me and none of my business to be fair, but to some one else it must have pissed them off a bit, cos it was pointed out to the dom in work the following day.need less to say a letter form the dom to this lads house was fired of the same day.so be carefull of what you post about your self on sites like facebook or myspace cos we are being watched and some times its your so called friends that are doing it

Re: facebook
gotta agree andy.im on a genuine stage 2
bad luck really with just 1 day over at the end of my stage 1
but now with a possible heart problem/condition being indentified it could be game over for me if it requires more time off

Re: facebook
Yes, it's depressing to have to agree with someone getting their arse kicked for "throwing a sickie". But there are far too many genuine cases who're getting far too much hassle, because of a few p**s takers.custard wrote:gotta agree andy.im on a genuine stage 2

Re: facebook
Even though i would have no sympathy for him if its true, as a rep i would be fighting his case
i would want them to prove he wrote it, as anyone can use a computer for example his brother/sister/wife/son/daughter etc

Re: facebook
Or whether he was just typing something just to say something or it also depends on why he was off sick, sometimes a little bit of physical exertion can help in some illnesses.norfolk n chance wrote:Even though i would have no sympathy for him if its true, as a rep i would be fighting his case

Re: facebook
True. But there's a major difference between gentle excercise, and flagging the back garden. I once replaced some broken ones on my path, and believe me. Those things are heavy!disgruntledpostie1 wrote:belle smith wrote:for god sake don't tell the managers that.disgruntledpostie1 wrote: sometimes a little bit of physical exertion can help in some illnesses.![]()
Seriously though, if you're depressed then one of the treatments is exercise (a gentle 60 minute walk) not what managers think of 5 hours at breakneck speed carrying 16kgs.

Re: facebook
the lad in question is off with stress i think, but the point of this thread was just to try and make people aware that managers are looking for us on things like facebook/myspace,just takes it to a different level i think, but then again if your not doing any thing wrong then you ain got nowt to worry aboutandy2007 wrote:True. Re: facebook
We have had managers sign up to facebook under the names of people actually employed in our office, so as to listen in.
