Refused to do lapsing today

Took my time on delivery, finished bang on time.

Not before the gaffer came snooping round my delivery and him telling me he could clear what I had left in 20 minutes, even though there was just under 1 hours graft left, with 4 items needing signed for on top.

I wasnt the only one either, another lad got the same treatment, with threats to make us work our break, bring it on I said.

People beginning to get totally fed up with this lark now.

The next time he says the duty can be completed in 20 minutes, hand it over to him and let him show you how it can be done if your DOM is anyhting like mine the colour will drain from his face and he'll say he doesn't have the time

Will get worse too from what I could gauge today.

Off tomorrow but expect fireworks Friday when it'll be even heavier and he gets told the same thing by even more posties.

IIRC, the Glorious Twelth refers to the grouse / pheasent shooting season that opens on the 12th of August - the 12th July is the start of the marching season in Ulster ( if RM carry on like they plan to, it could soon be marching, picketing and demonstrating season across the nation! )

The 12th of July is the peak of the marching season and because this year it's a Sunday we get the Monday off and Tuesday even the Catholics say thank God for the Orange Order

He can make you take 20 minutes during the day with 20 minutes at the end of your shift, just make sure that he does it for everybody otherwise stick in a grievence.

Thought it might be the case where its everyone or no-one.

Great, I know he wont go down that route.

He folds like a pack of cards under pressure which is what happened today, had a go at a few lads for no reason just because it was going pear shaped.

If you have childcare issues then RM must be flexible towards you. You can ask to start earlier(by letter) so that those issues can be met whilst still allowing you your 40 minute break. If he refuses then throw in a grievance.

Remember, you're not allowed to look at the next letter while walking, so stop and find the next letter at each house. This alone means, even on the lightest day, your duty should be 3.5 hours.

Put your pouch down when taking out each bundle or packet. Stop when untying each bundle. Take your time writing forms neatly and fill in each aspect of your special card correctly. This also means the customer gets a better service as well as making your managers head explode.

Just remember, even on a light day, you are allowed 3.5 hours to complete, so use it all.

The latest trick they use is gap counting .

Aren't there supposed to be gaps anyway? The walks weren't planned using a 100% call rate. Also, some of those gaps could have packets, do they go through all your packets as well?
