Peak Period 09

Post by Puppetmaster »

We are or should be in one of the lightest perids ot the year, and proably the lightest period ever given the continued propaganda of falling mail volumes.

At present we have not had 2men and a van, and deliveries are meant to be 3.5hrs.At present all ok just wed frI may make 10-15 minutes if lucky ,Saturdays a nightmare so heavy
and just finishing on time, mon and tues normaly easy.

So whats the problem. If we are just finishing on time now ,what will peak like, every year seems to be busier, and even more packets and more signed .

Dont expect any one in RM to care ,but it does concertn me,and cut offs are iffy especialy compared to people on easy rounds, sorry all rounds are equal according to CWU AND RM
Management both have told me that, but never done the walks themselves!

I think they (management) are putting all their faith in the flexibilty agreement so if you make 30 mins by wed that will cover you for a late day and sat. Of course it wont work as it relies on good will from us people some who at present use their cars but will change their minds quickly if their given extra work.

Anyway to start with management will need to stay to their own finsh times to see who's coming back early instead of going home an hour and half before i finish :mad
Rows of houses all bearing down on me........I can feel their blue hands touching me.......All these things in all positions.........All these things will one day take control..........

TBH I'll just be doing what I've done up to now, cut off or leave it behind and let the managers deal with it.

You have a nightmare on saturdays yet finish on time, you finish early weds and fridays, and find mondays and tuesdays easy?

That sounds good to me.

I can tell it's the easy period as I manage to finish on time 2 or 3 times a week. Peak period will be back to normal, going over 1 or 2 hrs most days (or cutting off as some do).
