Refusing to do lapsing on principal

Im thinking of refusing to do the lapsing on the principal that some people are crying off and getting away with it almost every day, I'm fed up with doing it while others piss around and whinge and moan to the gaffer and end up not doing it at least 4 out of 6 days.

Whats the Union stance should I choose this route?

Gaffer has already told us if we slow down any (there are a few of us who seem to be faster than the lead swingers, but without "running") then he'll conduct code us, which is bollocks if you ask me.

when we tried lapsing in our office for a week i brought this up, one of the usual moaners was whinging and whinging on that he wouldn't finish on time and had the lapsed bit of the walk taken off him, we have since gone into lapsing, i told the union rep if that situation ever happened again then i would stop lapsing,

as an office where the managers mates get lots of Saturdays off easy duties etc this was bound to happen, oh i will let you off that mate! still according to our manager there is no favouritism in the office, wish i could believe him!

If you have the time why not do lapseing if you don't have the time you cannot do lapseing is your manager asking/telling you to cut corners and break every rule in the book too earn his bouns for him?. IF YOU DO YOUR JOB PROPERLY HE CAN DO NOTHING!.

Yes I have time, but so does the other lad, he just swings the lead, takes the piss and the gaffer falls for it every time. The duty he does is actually easier now than it was when we did 2.5 hour deliveries, it was a right bastard then. And it certainly doesnt take him over 3 hours to deliver it.

As has been said, do the job properly and IF you have the time to spare then fair play - you are paid to do x hours work.. However, if you don't have time you don't do it, simple as. They will of course threaten conduct code etc bullsh etc - as long as you're doing the job properly and not taking the piss (finishing early or something) everything will be fine.

I know in my office we kept getting told we couldn't refuse to do the lapse as it was "part of our duty" - simple solution was to say we were not prepared to extend.. Then have a "discussion" with the DOM, let them threaten timing prep rates and scooping etc bully-boy routines etc - stay strong, keep your cool, wear them down not yourself!

Customer relations is part of the service but buggering off home for two hour's early is not!. JOB AND FINISH ENDED WITH THE PAY AND MODERNISATION AGREEMENT OF 2007!.

I stress he isnt going home early, he just drags his feet, he actually lives on the round and is a bit of a wide boy, so people talk to him all the time.

If he was to do the delivery without dragging his feet and talking to his mates he'd be done in 2,5 hours no bother at all.

So what ,none of your business ,he works his time ,not your job to police your workmates. In the long run he's doing you a favour

summer period. This will offer employees additional opportunities for
leave during the same period.

If your dom is allowing additional staff off then fair enough, do the summer lapsing if you are able to do so within your time otherwise dont. But if your dom is not allowing additional staff off then dont do summer lapsing.

Surly you do not believe this as in our office they shipped out all the part time staff to other offices!. As for summer holidays i don't get them but i don't do lapsing!.
