why strike again?

offices going out on strike! wanting other offices to follow!....... whats the point....mail centers will just put us back to square 1 like the last time. they want to go out a walk!!!!!!!

Do the job properly?? But how many people in your office either do it or are prepared to do it? I know of a few offices where there's always the "runners" and brown-nosers who will come in early, work through meal relief, use their own cars, work over their time without booking etc etc..
Just accept the s**t the management throw at us?? Hardly an option to consider as most would agree they would shaft us even more than they already do.
Or ....

Personally I am prepared to go on strike (even though it would be financially challenging) - it should be done properly to hit them hard and quick, probably also coupled with 'do the job properly' (with no o/t), I know in our office they've got rid of so many people they would struggle to cover the walks and shift the backlog.

Of course we could just all bend over, take it like they want us to and work ourselves into an early grave... Our choice

The ordinary worker can only take one course of action if their management are breaching agreements and that is to strike. I am a moderate but I do think that the management of Royal Mail are breaching agreements and are acting unfairly. I do think however that there is little to gain from random office strikes on an ad-hoc basis. RM can cope with that so there is little gained, all strikes need to be national or at least regional. I would support a strike.

On Wednesday 8th the delivery offices will walk out and on Thursday 9th the Mail Hubs (which process mail in and out of London) will be striking. Finally on Friday 10th the London Mail Centres (the large sorting offices) will down tools for the day.

This means that there will be a backlog at DOs after the strike, then one at the Hubs, then at the MCs - in effect slowing down the throughput to DOs over the whole week.

However I think that the DOs should go out after the MCs as this would cause 2 stoppages to the mail streams pipeline rather than just 1 stoppage each to 2 streams. The backlog would be smaller but would take longer to recover, as when the MCs are on strike the DOs will clear the backlog from their strike on the current plan. But if DOs strike after MCs then 1 day there would be reduced mail to the DOs when the MCs are out, but if the DOs go out next day then there is a log jam of the MC strike affected mail and the normal stuff processed by the MCs that day.

The reasons too strike are meny but the most important one is to remind :cfo who earns his 3 million pound bonus and that we are not slaves to be dictated to and not listened to!. Our union is our voice our ears and our mouthpiece if royalmail ignore the CWU they are in effect not talking to you all!. It is high time we made royalmail listen to us all and stick too their agreements in the process!. As i have said we are not slaves and the difference is a slave cannot withdraw their labour as we can and must for it will cause some hardship but not as much as being a slave!.

The other choice is to accept everything that RM say and impose - whats your line in the sand issue, I mean there has to be a point for everyone to say "this far and no further". How far can they push you.
