Been that way for a while now out in the sticks, windows up and all doors locked when driving.

In the document we get called "Security rules for drivers" which all drivers should recieve and sign every 6 months when they have their license check it says "Drive with doors locked and, where possible, windows closed." so I would argue that the sort of heat we have at the moment makes it not possible to drive with the windows closed. Obviously they must be closed when you stop but I have electric windows in my van so this isn't too much of a problem :)

Put them down when you drive,up when you park up.That's what i do.
Have to say, this week it's been seriously hot in them!

BELFAST,without me going over the top, tell your DIM bollox!

It's good to get these types of threads, the ridiculous my manager said bollox, so we can reassure ourselves that while the world is falling apart, Royal Mail managers are still being the low-life C***S they have always been.

 Just read a story of four dogs being boiled to death in cars.not funny, and how any company can instruct their staff to work in this weather, with closed windows, no air con is beyond belief.

Definitely should be classed as cruelty to posties. Wonder if we can get some charity to fight for our cause like they do for the animals. Seriously though, this aint funny. There is a serious risk to our health. You park up all hot and sweating. Go for a walk with a bag over your shoulder and so long as you dont stop to knock at a door you start to cool down. Then you get back in the little red cremater and the sweat pours off of you again. Surely something can be done by law whether it is early starts or air con. If the heat continues then I fear someone with underlying medical problems will end up dead thanks to RM and the little red cremation vans. :mad

:mad They are actually advising you to work in dangerous conditions--and inhumane.I do not drive for them any more, but if I did i would be taking a thermometer in the cab to record how hot it gets inside.
