I belive the max delivery span for rural deliveries is 5 hours but i'm not certain of this.ice man wrote:Today was a long day was on a rual route left the office at 8.05 didnt get back till 2.25 that made 6.20 out on route is there any agreement on duty lenghts and we had to do summer saving so we had to do 20 min of anther duty royal mail is getting crap.

I know of rurals in my office that are up to 6 hours long (or 2 hours Pegasus times) and they don't have to wait on missorts.

Re: is there a set time for walking the streets
Delivery span is 3.5 hrs from the time of your 1st letter to the time of you're last letter. This doen't mean that you cut off at that point. You are expected to work up to your finishing time (if you still have mail to deliver) which is when you arrive back at the office and finish unloading etc. .
If you know before you go on delivery that you can't complete in time then you are entitled to ask for relief, or arrange to not take out your summer savings part for that day or both :-P.

Re: is there a set time for walking the streets
Only bulk duties are allowed out at our office in order to make some inroads in the 9 oclock business mail, which has to be done again because the sorters don't finish til 0845 - so obviously no walking duty would be out before 0800 because the mail hasn't been sorted and prepped.Big Daz wrote:dvbuk55 wrote:This must be a van duty and who gets to leave at 0805 these days?
