Help Please Older Colleague to slow.

We have just had a revison and one of my colleagues is struggling to complete their delivery each day. To be far they are a bit older and also quite short so simply cannot complete the delivery in the time others can.

Our manager has started to get on her case about not working at a reasonable pace.

Is there anything they can do. Also is there anything she should do.

Is there an agreement for older people over 50 be to given extra time or easier deliveries due to their age.

grievience, sex discrimination, ageism, it's not a race and they cannot or indeed dare not compare her with another postie as we all know some do tend to break the rules and run the delivery etc... but a grievence is the first step

Is there any kind of agreement or policy we have for older people who struggle with their workload.

Any chance she could go for a buy-down, and go part time? Or if she say has arthritis, she could maybe see doc, and appply for lighter duties?Sad to say, this job is getting too much for not just us oldies, but i suspect some of the young ones.

This has come up before and there doesn't seem to be any agreement or policy, though
the CWU were instructed to try to achieve one in 2005. I wouldn't think RM would agree to
something like that as they want to get rid of people.

there is some ruling that a postie over 50 or 55 if he needs help then royalmail must help them .
it was in black and white aggred by the cwu and rm

That was why I made the Post because I thought they may get help but nobody seems to have heard of the agreement.
