Back a couple of years ago I would work quite a lot, maybe 50 hours or so a week but now I no longer do any OT so it's just the standard 40 hours every week.

I used to do loads, did 3 full walks on a saturday once, worked till 5pm, sometimes would do 60hours plus. Now just do 40 hours. You see unless you save some of the money, you just spend it, especially with a partner and baby lol. So never want to do o/t again. Enjoy your life! :Very Happy

65.5 hours back in the early 90's.

No more than 40 now - even at Xmas.

80 hours a week regularly in the late 80's until I almost cracked up.
Only my basic 40 now, with a 6 hour Sunday Duty every other week,
but that might be going soon.

Did about 30 hours O/T one week, many years ago when we had 2 deliveries. Used to get 8 hours delivering a F/T duty and 6 for a P/T duty even though the deliveries were about the same. Don't do O/T now and haven't done it since SDD. I'll agree with the posters above, family comes first, live within your means, overtime is for Christmas, not life.

I agree totally about making time for family and social life.
Especially as you get older you realise that time is getting shorter and you wish you had
spent it with people you care about.
When you are on your death bed will you be saying you wish you had spent more time at work?

Very rarely do overtime now, I like to have a day off, having said that I am working my day off next week as the kids will be away and I've got the following week off.
So keep on moving, moving, moving your feet
Keep on shuf-shuf-shuffling to this ghost dance beat
Just keep on walking down never ending streets

In the good old days in the 1980`s,I remember `claiming` for about 60 hours one week, the fact was I only did about an extra 15 hours if that,Crozier would have had a fit seeing how much `ghost overtime`was done. :cfo
