surplus to requirements

Post by gerardy »

Was just wondering does anyone have any information on this as I have been told that displaced, or employees who become surplus loose all their rights assosiated with the duty they were on.
Was told I had to apply for duties, but they would be filled on seniorority even though I am being displaced
Can they then change your start times, and your day off just to suit themselves as a result of the displacement
I feel I am beign screwed by RM.
How do I go to tribuneral after a stage 3 decision if I am unhappy with the outcome.

Rights in RM, what are they. Managers have plenty. Dump 20,000 letters and still keep your job.

:mad Do not listen to them, They tried this with me when S.D.D came in, and my walk was absorbed in to others.I was told I would lose my rotating days off, etc, plus long weekend. I fought this and their action was deemed to be detrimental to me.If your 'displacement has come about because of changes in the workplace, they cannot just take away your entitlements.Although I had to work as a reserve for a few weeks, I got another walk of my own.
Tell them no way. and good luck.

We had a senior postman at our office who had the same happen to him after Peagsus visited us. He became a reserve and had to wait till a FT walk came free, he got it after a fight but even so he had to wait 14-16months for one to come up.

Thank you for the quick replys,
just got word back I lost stage 3 decision.
Person dealing with it said start times and days off will be down to myself and my DOM to sort out.
Just pissed off as RM use everything in book no matter how small and ignore facts.

What we've done in the past is, when some ones job is removed, if we have vacancy's then they get first pick regardless of seniority, of course if more than 1 job is gone, then seniority is in place for those first, then seniority for the rest of the office.
