im now a regular cut off merchant.we been goe routed a year ago and theyve never bother to time the rounds(as we all know it was a cost cutting excercise ,not to even things out)so andy2007 quite nicly wrote a letter which i handed in 9 months ago.result our manager disappered to be replaced by a new one.with all the gift of the gab.ill sort it all out do this and that.but it wont happen all night.well i stopped cutting off beliveing everything he said.hes has made some changes weve dissmissed one another left.got in more part timers like myself to replace them but nothing about my round.infact now i regularly have to wait for my bags to be dropped off.he FORGETS to pay us d2d money.

anyway im running off tract last week i reissued the letter and have just been doing my hours.so he made me come in later
now we have another manager join him this week.all week shes been giving the ,why not ,tut tut approch.
today i cut off and when telling her, she said take it all out and bring back whats left.i said i couldnt bring back the last bit as ive done my 20 percent d2ds in that row.well i dont know about every one else but i had literally hundreds of light bulbs.she said we have 3 days to deliver them so i decided what to take and what bulbs to leave.in the end i left a street with no d2ds and no light bulbs.just post and a couple of packets.
well when i got back said what i had left,she went to my frame looked at it and started questioning me why i had left that when she specificly told me to leave the end.well argument ensued aS TO WHAT THE FECK IT MATTERS.which bit i leave.end of is shes says it does matter,its proper procedure to follow the frame.and well discuss it tommorrow .no doubt when both managers are present.i did ask to see a copy of the proper procedure but that just got a glare and scowl and well talk tommorow...
any thought.....
should i have given her the last bit with all the d2ds
where is this proper procedure.
do you think im in the shite designed that way?

Get your union rep on this managers all stick together like sh*t if you have done it a different way they could imply that you could have done it in the time!. But did you use your car to convey yourself and the mail for they don't take into account this as all deliveries should be completed with out car's on delivery!.

You did as was requested by leaving the end. She was not specific enough if she meant the end of the frame. When we cut off we are told to leave an easy bit (as in numbers and not house names). Take union rep in with you. If he is not available tell them you want union representation before attending and get a hold of the area rep.

So the frame is wrong or not in the order that it should be get your rep too argue your defence on this basis as it is for the managers too ensure that all walks are up to date!.

You've been telling them for some time now, that it's not actually possible to deliver everything in time, since you were Georouted. And you certainly aren't the only one. It's happening all round the Country. What do they expect you to do?

arrived at work this morning all ready for my interview,and noticed the dim wasnt there.i waited till 8 am and then went and sat in his office whilst a dim that was there was outside on the conferance call.15 minutes later she came in ,i told her (the one im supposed to of disobeyed )that im there for the interview.she said hatchman x isnt coming in today.i said lucky your here then.she cant do it hatchmans running the show.natuarlly i was livid.blatant 101 piss poor managment tactic.trump up charges,invite for interview then cancel leaving you more time to fret and worry.said i wanted a writen explanation as to why he hasnt turned up and more importantly why nobody told me in advance.well steaming all day .when i got back she had phoned up hatchetman and the answer was the area rep cancelled the interview because he want to represent me himself.and he should have phoned....ffs.....i looked a right twit with an a

had the fact finding interview a couple of weeks ago.i had to go in without the area rep as even though he was less than 4 miles away at our sister office for conduct codes.he was too busy to come to me.went in with a friend.stated my case.pulled out the conduct code and every time i quoted somthing to him,he said ignore that its more for guidance.ffs i said this is royal mail bible what it says goes.asked to see dailey mail volume record which should have the dims advise writen down.nope its on somones computer somewhere.so i cant see it at moment.long story short .
told them i couldnt hear what the hell she mumbled and i assumed just bring back whats left meant exactly that.

today after a week off went in office to ask how its progressing....it isnt he looked all stunned and said i cant get a statment of the dim that complained and he cant be arsed to chase her again so he might just give me councilling.dont i have to be guilty to take councilling.shouldnt he now drop the whole thing as unproved?its been nearly a month for such a trival made up charge just because i only work my hours.

If it was a moral decision then yes he would but as we are dealing with RM I would expect it to go its full course. Of course if you disagree with the outcome you could put a greviance in against both managers, or perhaps a bullying and harassment charge , although these systems can be abused as well.

2 things you have to support your case-

1) You left the most appropriate section (considering the d2d) which nodoubt would actually aid mail delivery.
2) You didn't actually refuse a reasonable request, you simply misunderstood it.

One more thing - WAS IT A REASONABLE REQUEST??? Surely requesting you use no discretion and arbitarily follow a frame (which may be tied up differently) isn't reasonable as it surves no useful purpose and would make delivery more problematic for whoever does it. A reasonable request would be 'leave the easiest or most convienient section considering packets, mail volume and d2d inclusion'.

well the story deepens.
after 4 weeks and not a work from dim,i asked him on monday how it was progressing.he looked shocked like hed forgotten about it and said oh yeah i cant get hold of the manager who made the complaint ,as she hasnt made any effort to come for her interview and my dim cant be bothered to chase her any more so he might just give me counciling....
what i wont except that as ive done nothing wrong and walked off.
friday he asked for a word and said he will "quash" the conduct code issue as she hasnt come forward with her side.but he will give me some "guidance"as to what to do next time i cut off which will go on my record.
is guidance the same as councilling?sounds like it to me.
well i said i dont need guidance as it all sat out in the concudt code as what you must do ..
speechless again i went to leave the room saying thankyou for your time.
and he said"well dont push the issue or it could get worse"FFS
if anything gets my back up more its talk like that.
they've been caught out and ill make as much as i wish about it,starting(the moment i get a letter saying its dropped)with bulling and harrassment .

just off the subject...our office has 11 walks about 16 people weve now been told we have to save 150hours a week.
we have a gate meeting on monday for the next step.......strike time me thinks...althought im up for work to rule myself as im already doing it..

They are doing this bullying and saving of hours all over as you can see on this board you may well have to ballot soon as other office's are doing now and take I/A as some have done like London and Scotland!.
