Later starts, later Specials
Just been told in our wtl, that coz of mail centre closures, ie Stockport going to Manchester, the time that we will get our mail will be later, so work hours may start at 7pm-3pm, also that RM will try & get the Special delivery moved to 2 or 3pm, for a flag ship product I think that is crap customer service?

Re: Later starts, later Specials
Specials were alraedy put back an hour from noon to 1pm some years ago.
The quality of service has gone seriously downhill since single daily deivery and the abolition of the first delivery.

Re: Later starts, later Specials
I've been delivering Specials after 1pm for a while now, I won't change my delivery order just to suit the specials (if they make the duties finish at 3pm then that's the time I aim to finish).

Re: Later starts, later Specials
I've had 47 1pm specials this week alone.
30 have missed the 1pm deadline.
Managers dont really seem to mind as long as office is clear........which its not

Ok so if my SD item arrives after 1pm (which RM keep moving back!) then thanks posties I'll claim back the postage which Im allowed to do.
Why would you use Special Delivery if it had a delivery of Pre 2/3pm? The same time as standard mail.
Crazy...

It's called MODERNISATION, until customers start complaining about the late time of they're delivery nothing will improve just get worse and we will get the grief.

If we cant get to the delivery point by 1pm we have the driver on the duty deliver the item. This happens usually from weds onward as we offically finish at 2:30pm to 3pm on those days. Then again the PHG's gun in the items as delivered before the delivery cards come back into the office,or so im told alegally

Drivers in my office have been using PDA's for 6 months so the time of delivery is always logged when the customer sign on the screen and you click on the send button.themaskedman wrote:If we cant get to the delivery point by 1pm we have the driver on the duty deliver the item. This happens usually from weds onward as we offically finish at 2:30pm to 3pm on those days. Then again the PHG's gun in the items as delivered before the delivery cards come back into the office,or so im told alegally

Re: Later starts, later Specials
At the moment a lot of offices are faking delivery times for specials through "confirmation by default", confirming them before they are actually delivered and updating the system later if they are not, when every postman/women has a PDA this will stop as the PDA does the confirming not the PHG, and the DOMs will be in the s**t as they will no longer be able to fake the delivery times, so i would welcome carrying one even if it is a bit cumbersom in its current formthemaskedman wrote:We have the pda's in our office as well, wont belong before we have to carry them strapped to our backswestlondonpostie wrote:Drivers in my office have been using PDA's for 6 months so the time of delivery is always logged when the customer sign on the screen and you click on the send button.themaskedman wrote:If we cant get to the delivery point by 1pm we have the driver on the duty deliver the item. This happens usually from weds onward as we offically finish at 2:30pm to 3pm on those days. Then again the PHG's gun in the items as delivered before the delivery cards come back into the office,or so im told alegally

Re: Later starts, later Specials
suggest you give the auditors a ring-- they came in by suprise last Monday picked up first card which had 3.15pm, second card 2.20pm next to specials.Marched straight to the doms office gave him a bollocking and the lino's .Now if we can't get specials done by 1pm the driver has to take them.
