Can anyone tell me how often office reps have to be elected ?

But if nobody stands against the incumbent then they're usually re-elected by default.

Iwas just curious as we haven't had a vote in years and re-election has never been mention in the office.

We elect all positions anually. This includes both branch and office positions. A request for nominations is displayed in each office with details of how to apply and the closing date. Some positions are elected unopposed and where there is a need for a ballot this is again advertised. The ballot is normally run by our branch chairman unless it is his position that is being contested. I think that is the norm in most places.

There should be an election every year...at my office there is but no one else wants to do the job so the same people stay the reps....but
they do a great job in hard times!!

The same but my branch has two returning officers who run ballots.

Yeah the way the count is done varies a bit. But the main thing is that the positions are advertised and the whole thing is seen to be fair and above board.

Since current rep was elected never seen notice of a ballout to re-elect.
Our rep is crap, looks after No 1,sod the rest. Answer to every thing cut off.
Result of which quite a few have left the union and I must admit its under consideration here as well
