Re: reducing hours
i reduced my hours from 40 to 25 a few years back, and to tell you truth i'm not worse off, tax credit adds the loss to it, but before you decided, check online or by phone how much you'll get, just make an excuse why your reducing your hours, best of luck,

Re: reducing hours
Buydown/reduction of hours is voluntary.
If you do not want to reduce to less than 20 hours do not agree to it.
He may try to put pressure on you, but just say no.
Don't sign anything, ask for time to consider before you sign anything.

Re: reducing hours
I believe you are entitled by law to return to the same hours you were n before you went off. So any reduction should be your choice, don't give n to your manager they are just trying to save aa many hours as possible.sharonbar wrote:what pay would i get for 20hrs as im currently on a 40hr duty but due to return back to work in 3wks after being on maternity leave spoke to manger today an hes coming out on wed to discuss my options he said could i reduce my hours less than 20hrs any suggestions on off my collages said tell him yes youll do a 4 day wk an have saturdays off can he make me take less than 20hrs

It's good to get these types of threads, the ridiculous my manager said bollox, so we can reassure ourselves that while the world is falling apart, Royal Mail managers are still being the low-life C***S they have always been.

The daily grind of having to argue your case with an intellectual pigmy of a line manager is physically and emotionally draining.

nothing to do with holidays(as far as i know)NWpostie wrote:how complicated is it to apply for Tax credits and is there any restrictions, say you want to go away on holiday do they put a limit as to how long you can be away etc
it's how much you earn per annum, children under 18, how many hours you work etc
just follow the website and they tell you how much potential benefits you may be entitled too
