Post by calpsy »

No not me ....... I bet a few wished it was after the last couple of days lol .

No . A guy was caught stealing birthday cards for money , DVDs etc . His house was searched and lots was found .

Wont go into great detail . Only want to know if this has happened in your office and what happens ?

No-one in our office knows what will happen .

Depends on how much he stole and how much mail was damaged or delayed.

Some have received prison terms but they are the exception. Most, according to different news items on here get Community Service and/or a suspended sentence.

The good bit is if they are guilty they'll find it hard to get a job beyond shelf stacking at the local store.

Most stores are very particular about employing thieves but I'm sure they'd have a great future in the banking industry :nervous

We had one do it last year, nicked a few things including his mothers credit card and he got 15 months in the big house. The fact he also worked when we where all on strike is a good indication of the kind of bloke he was .

It depends how much, how often and who he stole from, RM do not like the bad publicity this brings with it . I think most of us regard those who tamper with the mail as scum who get us all a bad name and they should prosecute all of them. The courts take a very dim view on mail thieves and most if not all I have known about in the last twenty odd years have gone down.

Time was when we where checked out, tested and you could leave stuff laid around, not any more :mad
I do not think much of a man who is not wiser today than he was yesterday.

ALL the managers etc are completely ignorant ??
If you've read any of the thousands of posts made on this forum then you'd know that we think of most managers like that. :Very Happy

I really don't understand why people do this, once you start you then have to keep doing it for fear of getting caught whenever someone else covers that duty (if items go missing when the regular person but not when the cover is on it then it sticks out like a sore thumb).

They will definitely prosecute. If it's proved he's been doing it a lot and for a while I guess he'll get 12 months.
We had one last year who'd been dipping into the locker float and opening cards to get cash for drink. her brief laid it on thick about her breakup with her boyfriend, her best mate had emigrated and her drink problem and she got community service. we were disappointed thats all she got.
