Should this be called summer staffing ? Am I right in saying there is no such thing as Summer Productivity 2009 ? Was it for just 2008 ?
We did not receive a penny on 50/50 share !! Why should we do extra if time does not permit on our large deliveries in our office !!
During the summer the volume of mail declines (RM say), given the posties enough time for a meal break that they never have during the winter months !!!

Re: Summer Productivity 2009 ????
Summer staffing is part of the flexibilty aggrement.
My D.O absorbs a delivery from next week for the summer.
The DOM's reason was amount of people on sick leave.

Re: Summer Productivity 2009 ????
The question has to be as follows:
Why should units continue to honour phases 2 and 3 (the summer savings and flexibility sections) of the Pay & Mod Agreement 2007 when RM have not engaged in any meaningful way with the CWU on phase 4?
The acceptance vote, taken way back when, was in response to the WHOLE agreement. The option to vote for the individual phases was not there. The CWU has already bent over backwards in its attempts to appease RM and continues to do so. Surely, enough is enough!
I say NO to any more summer absorption of duties. I say NO to any more flexibility. It is time RM management EARNED the respect and co-operation of its workforce in moving RM forward, rather than demand it.
RM, get around the negotiating table with the CWU and practice what you have preached, and honour your commitments to the business and the people who work in it.
That way, all can prosper.
