d2d's are scum, well they are for me on a 24 hr contract, i have been told not to prep them by my cwu rep as it would mean i would have to claim overtime and take them out in bundles in my bags, i tried this and it slows me down a lot and i think its a tad dangerous considering were not supposed to look at letters in between houses never mind getting a d2d in between or stand at the door for seconds extra. if i have 5 to do it will make my walk even more of a misery!

Trouble is they don't give you time to prep them in our office. If i have 5 lots thats going to be maybe 10 mins i need every day to throw them in.
Taking them loose in bags is not a good idea.It means you have to carry the bag on your side and it causes strain on your back.
If we have 100% call rate then surely they will have to scrap the absorbing walks or take some off us,because at the moment aren't the rounds based on an 86% call rate or something?

Did we not throw this idea out a while ago ? Or was that just a local agreement ?

The contract is from week to week so you should not need to deliver them, in my DO you would not have to.

the pay rate for D2D haven't changed for yonks, 1.67p per item, I bet they have increased the charges each year to companies and pocketing the difference year on year. :cuppa

I say NO, to 5 items and a lump sum to do it for free, its open to abuse, the way forward agreement is being abused and manipulated, I did not vote for it, but the Majority did without thinking it through, all that for £400, :d'oh! some people will never learn.

the union should agree to 5 sets of door 2 door with an increase of pay (not a lump sum) cos that means your call rate would be 100% so no collapsing of walks and they would have to re-run ,geo-route as that was run with a call rate of around 75%
