Postmen In General...

Post by EatMyShorts »

Are most of us people who never want to do overtime and are happy making the money we do a week? Have a drink problem aswell? What do you people think?

I myself drink twice a month if lucky and do loads of overtime and save all my money. I love the job if im honest if i didnt like it i would do something else

I am in the job 2 years this November . Was self employed since leaving school so this is the first job ive had .

Dont drink unless goin out with friends but can understand why a lot of posties drink .

Overtime is ok . Can live without it but do enjoy doing the backshifts . Last few weeks theres been 4 or 5 ive had to do .

Overall its not a bad job .

I do 8 hours S/A, and have no intention of doing more. In fact, despite being asked on several occasions. I refuse to sign the opt-out, to enable me to do more.

I rarely drink, because I need to drive the Car, virtually every day.

Interesting angle of thought. I do little overtime these days as i am lucky to be able to live and budget on the basic pay. I used to do loads SA collections, counter duties and nights. I ve never been a heavy drinker but a couple of nights in the week i like a single beer or glass of wine with my dinner :Very Happy . The trouble i find these days is if like tonight i am able to drink more (ie no work in morning) then i am dropping off to sleep by 9pm zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz
Rows of houses all bearing down on me........I can feel their blue hands touching me.......All these things in all positions.........All these things will one day take control..........

Totally agree mate - my comment was meant to show the banality and IMO the pointlessness of saying anything or asking something that immediately puts people into boxes. We are all individuals who do things for our own reasons and circumstances.

IMHO a question that starts Does everyone think that PT are .......

or

Do you agree that FT are........

To me its like asking men if women should be kept at home and not allowed to work, pointless, asking for trouble and full of preconceived perceptions.

However, to answer the questions I don't need to do overtime, and I drink only on Saturdays, and I like the job.

The fact of the matter is postmen/women of this nation don't deserve the insults and innuendo nor the sarcastic remarks of the few who cannot get off their arse and do the job which they say we cannot do!. The problem with royalmail is the management's own makeing and it goes from the top down they dictate the term's and break the agreement's and force the fight on us all!. IT IS THE MANAGEMENT WHICH DELAY PARCELS AND PACKETS NOT THE POSTMEN/WOMEN!.
