Re: WHAT'S HAPPENING TO OUR HOLIDAYS??????
Our days in lieu are generally credited to the following year's annual leave,
and usually have to be taken during the winter leave period.
But we can apply to take odd days as 'out of course leave' subject to manager's approval.

In my office only the managers pets can get the odd days off, all the rest of us just get to book weeks off.

Re: WHAT'S HAPPENING TO OUR HOLIDAYS??????
Managers are being told that odd days off can be had if you swap your normal day off.
ie If your day off is Thursday but you want Friday, see who is off that day and swap with them. Preferably on your own rotation so floater simply does the two duties on different days.
There is no cost to the business so they are happy. They simply wont give out days off to be covered by overtime any more, especially in Summer.
Of course, you can fight back by refusing to come in on your day off when sick leave or whatever makes the staffing go tits up.

Re: WHAT'S HAPPENING TO OUR HOLIDAYS??????
i am really starting to wonder what type of organisation we are all working for, have we gone back in time because all these changes seem and make me feel that way. I dont no why managers in all ldos dont just buy a drum out of the first line fix money shackle us all together at the fittings and beat a drum to the pace they would like us to work oh yeah nearly forgot hire a meat head with muscles in his s**t to whip us when we drop off the beat of the drum. Its got to get to a point were we all have to say enough is enough and make a stand for what we know is the right way to treat ppl the more years i work for r/m the more and more i feel less valued wheres it all going to stop eventually through natural wastedge everone that works for r/m will be a p/t aswell thankfully i should have only 10 yrs service left by then jesus it feels a long time just typing that

If your day off falls on a bank/public holiday then you get a day's leave back on next years leave.
Its in the Way Forward, there is a clause that allows you to take it the same leave year though.
