business reply sheets

I had a call from my manager today saying I was not filling my business reply sheets in,what with everything else i have to do i tend to forget.He then said I could be sacked for not filling them in.Because I work in a small rural office we have to do them ourselves.does anyone know if this is a sackable offence?.The manager in question is actually ok as managers go so im not sure if hes shitting me.

If you mean the forms you fill in when we charge the receiver of the mail rather than the sender - as in these ones for example:

Then I would say a definite yes as each time you miss it you cost Royal Mail money. 24p each letter minimum I think.

whats all this about ? ive never heard of it, should i be trained on it?, also a customer asked me the other day ,what they have to do with a unpaid parcel form which was delivered to them, i assume the parcel is at my office but the form said some place 100 miles away, so i aint really got a clue.

It should be at the office that made out the form. They can put stamps on to the value of the amount requested and pop it back into a post box and it should be delivered within a few days.

Except for SPDOs Business reply is usually a specific role within the office so I would not worry about it too much unless you occasionally sort. If you do then there is usually a slot for BRs.

In the larger offices the business replies are done by PHG'S or DOM support as i work in an SPDO i need to do them.Thanks for the info i better get some ink in my pen i think.

The data collected needs to be entered on the computer system for the billing to take place - who does that?

The Business Response service in my office is filled in by the postie on that duty and then the PHG (RLE duty) puts them on the computer system for billing.
