Hi all,
Any advice on what if anything I should do about the following.....a grievance or something?
My dom gave me notice of an attendance interview, when i went in we had a chat and then he told me to just sign the notes sheet and he would put them in later.
I know i was a bit trusting in doing this.
8 weeks later and i still hadn't found out i i have been given a warning or not, so i get my print out and see that i have had awarning.
now, i never got a letter from him telling me why he had given me the warning or why or asking me to sign as acknowledgment that i had the letter.
apart from not being so stupid can i have redress or should i keep quiet in case he ever tries to issue a 2nd satge then i could point out that the 1st satge is invalid, is that right though?
any thoughts and ideas welcome.
thanks

That happened to me about 8 years ago. I had a prolonged absence following surgery, went for the stage 1 interview and was informed that it would not be issued in this instance as the whole period was covered by a certificate from the consultant who operated on me. 2 years ago I triggered another stage 1 and prior to the interview I received a single page with my entire sick record only taking up about a third of the page, but the warning from 8 years ago had been issued! The rep complained on my behalf, but as it had long since expired management wouldn't do anything about it, oh, and I still got the second stage 1 as they were and still are being issued in most cases. The Lino at the time admitted they no longer had the authority not to give them. What a caring company we work for.

We do seek to nurture our staff and make every attempt to enable their optimum productivity, however ,if they've been there long enough to get a tidy pension payout, then the slackers are an outright liability
