overtime rates

what is it for the 1st 10 hrs?
im on a 30hr week and hardly ever get above 40hrs

this past 2 weeks ive managed to get over it though...by half hr in this weeks wage!

time + .5 would be £13 or £6.50 for my extra 30 mins
time + .25 would be £10.86 or £5.43

i got £4.62 for the half hr (= to £9.24 p/h) .....what rates that? time +.065???
i aint fussed as its only a quid or 2, but next week i'll have 6 hrs o/t

any ideas??

That sounds about right (it's been a long time since I've done any OT), all your hours up to 40 are paid at normal rate and the next 10 hours get an enhanced rate but not time +½ or +¼ and anything after that drops down further.

PS. SA is paid at normal rate for PTers up to the 40 hours.

What I don't understand is why I am paid an Over 10 Hour overtime rate that's LESS tham my basic pay, i.e.
£8.21 Weekday Overtime Over 10 Hours,
£8.69 hourly rate ( £347.61 for 40 hours ),
£9.23 Weekday Overtime First 10 Hours,
£9.48 Weekday Scheduled Attendance.

The union agreed to this to try to stop people working too many hours, personally I can't see the logic in it except that RM saves again.

Only about once a year might I work more than 10 hours overtime in a week but I should then just try to remember that I'm getting £8.21 an hour more than all those that come in an hour early for nothing.

It was intended to make OT less attractive thus protecting hours and jobs. Times have changed though and RM are now exploiting the pitiful OT rates as a source of cheap labour via PT contracts.
Time for a MAJOR rethink.
Since RM claim the that work is dropping off massively, and they feel justified in cutting tens of thousands of jobs , It shouldn't be too hard to get them to agree to OT at double time :using their logic no OT would be required anyway
