things getting worse

Post by gerardy »

Not only are we having to put up with alot of modernisation that is going on within the business, but now a number of men are reporting to have had days removed from there annual leave (especially bank holiday credits),
and over-time removed from their weekly pay. (30 mins - 1 hour might not seem like much but throughout a whole office how much could the DOM's be saving if not nocticed)
The men need to stand up and fight with the management and not be put off by their laim reasons, or excuses like(oversight, forgot, sorry my mistake) all happening way to often.

Are these actions not illegal?

Is this practice happening in other offices aswell?

They should put in a grievance, each and every one of them who has had their ot docked. Make sure everyone writes down their ot in future because some wont have noticed this happening. Tell your union rep or area rep also. If you all tell your rep that all ot will stop immediately if this continues then depending on how much RM at your office depends on ot but it could cause your dom a major headache getting things covered.
The time has come to stop turning the other cheek, time to stop shaking our heads in bitter dismay, time to stop mumbling our angry words.
The time has come for union.

same thing here guys booking ot and manager crosses it out with the word flexible, staff with hospital appointments told to take it as leave or sick, manager insulted me today asked me if i wanted any ot i replied if he carried on i will take a harressment case out against him, most in our office have had enough and just want out the jobs gone and the union is letting them get away with it.

BALLOT BALLOT BALLOT BALLOT

Stop this s**t in its tracks, don't let them get away with it!!
I Wrote-During Covid-Which is still relevant now
It's good to get these types of threads, the ridiculous my manager said bollox, so we can reassure ourselves that while the world is falling apart, Royal Mail managers are still being the low-life C***S they have always been.
My BFF Clash
The daily grind of having to argue your case with an intellectual pigmy of a line manager is physically and emotionally draining.

I agree with postman on this one the only WAY FORWARD is to ballot. Another thing is to stick together or the dom will just walk all over you. This is happening in my office and others of course that overtime is being amended by the dom. For e.g claiming 1 hour o/t and the dom putting down what ever he/she feels fit. If this is the case i would STOP all o/t in the office, work to your time. I hate repeating myself but you need to remind people time and time again to do the job properly.

Start at your starting time not a minute before. Prep household in RMails time not your time. Weigh your bags. Take your breaks. Make sure you do a vehicle inspection before setting out. Things will get worse if your office does not stick together, you need to tell your rep to get the message across to everyone.

Better still: Photograph your Docket, each time you fill it in. Micro SD Cards are quite cheap now, and most Mobiles have a Camera on them now. This is particularly important, if you get to see the Docket, after it's been edited. :hmmmm

this usually happens in the run up to Privatization , you'd think they were paying OT out of their own pockets - all this more committed than thou nonsense . It's harassment as this top down bonus culture is a recipe for it , and they'll have it down to a fine art so yeah ! - you'll need evidence to prove all this deceitful underhandedness .

Completely agree with those sentiments, some of us have been banging on about this for years.
Most of the staff have taken up the mantle, but there are still quite a few who refuse to see what
happening now, and whats to come.
I am sure our office is no different to any other, but it does rankle with me that some people
just don't give a f..k about the job or worse their workmates. :no no

Ive recently started to write down exactly what days ive done o/t and what hrs im meant to get then i check it on my wage slip.
As for days off being removed i keep a copy of my holiday sheet so i know exactly what days ive had off and what im still allowed.
I wouldnt stand for not being paid properly or having days took off me!!
Just say NO ....to the new agreement.
