London ballot papers arrived today

Voting has started in 157 different units in London covering 12 thousand postals workers concerning strike action.

The result will be known on May 29th. Be in no doubt the result of this strike along with those offices in scotland and others in the country will determine whether our members in the whole of the uk have a future within Royal Mail.

Be in no doubt London members are fighting a national dispute and others must be prepared to join in. The London ballot question can be used for any office in the country. We cannot wait until the whole of the union is ready for the row we must start a domino effect throughout the UK.

The fight is on !! Is your office and area going to join it !!

The wording is :: Royal Mail breach of existing national agreements and their failure to negotiate a new national agreement covering all aspects of modernisation. ( including all matters arising out of or in consequence of this dispute )

This wording has been designed to roll out to other offices in the country to create a domino effect.

I couldn't get to the post box quick enough today to post my ballot, it seems a long time coming for me and of cource a big YES!!! was ticked and I will be out for as long as it takes to get these morons back to the table for realistic negoations.

1, no pay rise
2, loss of earnings under new proposals
3, unworkable walk propasals
4, dispersal of less senior staff to other offices
5, unacceptable change of working hours
6, introduction of part time dutys
7, no facilitys in place for dutys as they are now let alone for what will come next.....

these are just some of my concerns, we lost more dutys than we needed to last year to protect earnings after we had are night dutys removed, we as a country have put the company on record profits, and as a reward for all the slashing we get this as a thank you + the reductions of our pentions lets not forget that - share in success my ass!

Isn't that the same as saying, this strike is to make a protest over modernisation? If so then I DO doubt whether it will determine whether members in the whole of the uk have a future within Royal Mail. If anything, its playing right into Mandy's hands. I can just see him saying "See, I told you the union was nothing but trouble and thats why we need a commercial partner".

Night tonic , the fact is that mandleson has authorised Royal Mail to slash and burn terms and conditions. Whilst I am 100% in support of defeating Brown and mandys bid to sell us off , we cant let them attack our terms and conditions run down the service as we might as well have been privitised.

The Government is in crisis. Brown has been told by senior labour party memebers he needs to back off or face destroying the Labour party for a generation. The Tories have said that they will only support the bill if no concessions are given to back bench labour mps so Brown would have to risk a no - confidence vote from Labour Mps or the tories. I think the shewd money is on the bill being delayed.

However we cannot allow Royal Mail to run down services and conditions including turning this job into a mainly part time job.
