Bonus.....yet again...

Post by Sci_Dog »

I have looked this site up and down looking for information on any bonus due to us the normal postie and can't find anything definite. From what I can gather there is some National Savings bonus which also includes a local 50/50 savings bonus and then there is the Share in Success? I'm assuming these two are not linked? Can anyone give a definite answer and shed any light what sums are due to us and when they will be paid? Clear, informative and easy to read replies are very much appreciated. Thanks Sci_Dog.

I work in the Exeter delivery office and the only thing we have been told that we are getting is £64 for the 50 / 50 scheme, no mention at all of the 400 quid?

Everybody is getting the £400 as standard on the 29th may if you work 40 hours. If you work less than that you get a share.
Also every office has its own 50/50 savings scheme which will vary according to where you are.We are getting nothing in the dorset mail centre because we are supposidly overspent......

OK guys and girls. Done my own research and called the pay office. Nice lad told me all I needed to know regarding the bonus. There is 2 bonuses which are imminent. There first one is the 50/50 savings. Basically what ever your office saves in it's budget, half the savings are put back into Royal Mail locally (think that's right) and the other half is shared between the office OPG's. So this bonus will vary from office to office. It is due to be paid on the 22nd of May for weekly pays and the 29th of May for monthly pays.

The second bonus is the Share in Success dividend. The man in the pay office informed me this should be paid out on the 29th of May for all grades but did NOT say for definite. The bonus itself should be around £400. £200 coming all the local savings and £200 coming from national savings.

I hope they don't take the office overspend off us  :nervous we were at least 10,000 hours over budget the last time the DOM decided to have a WTLL (he took it badly that some of us cheered at the size of the overspend).

Our DO is massively overspent too, so I don't expect to hear any good news on the 50/50 when I pose the question to my DIM DOM this week, lol

Where the hell do they get these figures from 10,000 hours over spent? Its like the doms just pluck some random digits out of thin air. Why do we care how many hours they have saved or not being the case...i would be happy to see a chart on a wall saying we are either + or - this week...then you can determine whether you will get your 50/50 bonus.

TBH that's only 200 hours per week so 4/5 long term sick (6 months plus) plus they took out hours before they implemented any changes  so even with the lapsing others did over the summer it didn't make any difference :chuckle :chuckle add to that those of us who won't be doing lapsing this year and who are now cutting off on a regular basis I can see an even bigger deficit this year :nana :nana :nana :nana :nana
