cut-off monday ,left about 40mins work in office ,still there tuesday,had to take it tuesday,for no extra pay,cut off wednesday ,good as told will be there for me tomorrow,if i was asked by customers why they got no mail monday but piles tuesday could i have told them the truth or would i have been in bother,whats the official stance

Just keep doing it and stick a bit of a4 on the wall with date and number of addresses not getting mail on that day with an estimation of items not delivered and just keep filling it up because its wilful delay, keep a copy for yourself inform the union every day and lead a far less stressful life. They just want to bully you into it but the stress is theres not yours, so good luck to you and well done.

The managers are guilty of Willful Delay, the cut off should be delivered by them, or some overtime monkey to do that day.

The letters should not have been put on your frame for the next day, not at all.

whether your manager has the authority to delay mail.

I think they are covered by operatinal needs in the short term but they cant keep doing it.

Thats the whole point of the a4 paper and reporting it to the union every day, its evidence of there incompetence and wilful delay and the union may find it helpful when royal mail try to do another member for wilful delay. By leaving it in the bag they are wasting even more of your delivery time the next day for you to cut off so its win win for you.

I myself am now subject to intimidation from management.. Since our revision my round is way to big.. Two other people have done this round and simply could not complete, the first guy would not cut off affraid of harasment from management, and so went over and claimed O.T, he is now being accused of not being fast enough and being disciplined for it!! The second guy did cut off and has now been moved to another round as a kind of councelling punishment.. Now its my turn and am getting s**t left right and centre from management to the point of provacation!! I am thinking of putting a grievance under intimidation against this particular manager.. As every morning he now approaches me and tries to threaten me into completing by telling me I should be quicker and Im not up to scratch and then threatening to time my throwing off which I know is ok... Christ Ive being doing it for ten years without a peep from anyone!! Do I have a case??? Also any tips on how to handle this situation?

Yes you do if your manager says that you are not up to scratch then get them to test the walk if he/she says that you are taking to long getting ready to go out then ask he/she how you should do it, ask them to prep the delivery and show you how to get done quicker,also there is a procedure in place when a member of staff does not come up to standard but it takes a year to prove it, also they should be coaching you and asking if you have any problems and if needs be then they should be offering re-training as you know there is nothing wrong with you or your work rate it's just if they think they can get away with it they will.Just put the ball back in their court,be polite but clear and ask them for direction as that is part of their job.

Hi Bandit..
They DEFINATELY wont time the round ive tried that one with complete confidence!! They are really provoking me at the moment.. I really lost it this morning.. Im generally laid back type of guy! But I have got quite a temper when anyone FINALLY pushes me.. Had to go outside to calm down this morning!! I shouldnt have to put up with that every day!! Rep suggested I put in a grievance.. Wot do you lot think?? good move or bad????

good move, because the more greivences put in against these bullies the quicker RM get the message.
Sector manager gets involved when number of greivences goes up sharply then questions the DOM and maybe they might end up getting moved or even lay off you.

Well I know for a fact this particular manager has a lot of grievances against him looks like I may have to join the many!! Just worried that this sort of thing comes back to bite me up the ass.. But I suppose its do or die situation! Cheers.

Hi yes put a grievance in,send it to your HR unit that's what we do and i really do understand what you are going through,managers can be a pain that's a fact,i have been dealing with the same situation at work today,the manager not being to bright just like's to think he is,he's in for a shock his own manager is going to interview him tomorrow about the problem but be under no illusion it's not stopping there,my advice don't take the rubbish lying down go through the channels to deal with it,best of luck!

Take your point.. But not everyone is up for a fight every damn day of their life!! We are human after all.. But that said.. Im always up to stand my ground if something is unjust or simply wrong as this is! Thing is When I get stuck into something like this I can get damn right nasty and thats what worries me! Not a case of being half cocked or yellow like a lot in my office!!
