Quadrant taking the pi**

Post by celerycelery »

Only just noticed they are now charging 55p for crisps, 55p for chocolate and 70p for a can of drink. Bloody hell thats a 10% increase. Personally i always bring my own food, drink etc and no wonder at those prices.

There was an LTB about the price increases and in fact there is a whole thread about it as well. http://www.royalmailchat.co.uk/communit ... nt#p146708" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

ye think they noticed we weren't prepared to pay those prices and brought cheaper products in 40p for some wheat crunchies but now they have put those prices up as well, so i don't use the vending machine any more, guess they have found the tipping point with me too expensive

The last DOM closed our canteen down on the grounds it was not making a profit,hardly suprising as we had job and finish from the very begining.
We now have two vending machines that has sweets and crisps at least 10p more than i can get in the shops i deliver to!

I'm in Wales and we have a cold drinks machine, a klix hot drinks machine (exactly the same as the one at another office nearby but we pay 10p more a cup?!) and a vending machine. All that in North Wales!! We're normally the poor relations lol

I refuse to pay those prices unless I feel my blood sugar getting low.

The only time I use our coffee machine is when things get a bit tense and the manager puts it on 'free vend' as a bit of a perk. Then I will drink the shite because it is free :wink:

Although I am partial to taking the odd snickers bar out with me on the busy days. (thats any day bar tuesday) :cry

You're right about the prices being extortionate. But at least there's somewhere on site, to get a decent meal, when you're hungry.

To be perfectly honest: I rarely buy a meal at my Canteen. Because I can't afford to. But I always buy drinks, and the occasional buttie there, as it isn't their fault that the prices are so high. They're set Nationally, and the local staff have no say in it. So why should we put their jobs on the line, because of the greedy fools who control the prices? :hmmmm
