Bully Manager HELP !!!

A manager has been bullying a member of staff in our office, he has threatened him, pointed a finger in his face while egging him on to say something and swearing, also shouting across the office saying he was taking the fukkin piss while the postman was leaving his cut-off by the manager's door that morning (the following day another postman left the same amount of cut-off + still claimed 1hr O/T). Again on saturday the same manager deliberately hid his empty trays while the postman was emptying his van after delivery, 2 letters which was endorsed 'Door closed no letter box' was covered with blue trays by manager + moved while he was still emptying his van.
H1 complaint will be made on tuesday......what are the chances of this manager being done for bullying + harrassment ?

Also the same day while the manager was talking to him in his office, the manager produced an 5" lock knife and threatened to cut him, this was witnessed by another postman. (at the time it was taken light heartedly but the postman had 40minutes of prolonged threats + abuse 1.5 hrs after the knife incident from the same manager)

Should have rang the police the moment the knife came out personally but I know how hard these things are.

Strange how times change.

About 15 years ago we had a PHG who was, to be kind, a little volatile. He threatened to cut his wrists if he wasn't given what he wanted, it obviously wasn't a serious threat, but the manager, who was an OK bloke, offered him his penknife - the PHG reported him as having "threatened" him with a knife and the manager was lucky to keep his job.

I agree with that , RM would not like it one bit though as they like things swept under the carpet or in house which is one and the same thing as it's harder for them to close ranks . The DUM is probably protecting him .

The Police might start handwringing saying it's a vexed case and the CPS would say the witnesses are not " independent " .

We'd a case of false imprisonment prior to privatization , a manager got his arse smacked so out of spite they had this lad in the office . He asked for a rep as the ruling was if there was two or more managers in the office shouting at him , there had to be a union witness and support .
They refused that and physically blocked the exits , he started to hyper - ventilate .

Complaints were made to the police by the union but the Personnel Manager's response was if the lad pressed charges , they'd " manage " him out of his job so fast his feet wouldn't touch .

So go through the correct channels as I'd imagine RM would be very vindictive and twist everything round and worse .

Unprofessional idiots that have never left the playground should not be in charge of people . Outside the PO , the highest he'd get is teamleader @ McDonalds and tell his mates he was a asst manager or chargehand in a factory . The rot starts at the top & works it's way down ? :lfo & :cfo .

If this is true your friend needs to phone the CWU harassment and bullying helpline on 0800 107 1909 and fill in a HCD1 complaint form (Harassment and Bullying form). This type of behaviour should not be tolerated and needs addressing as soon as possible and put in a grievance. This person needs to go and see their union rep, this is not on.
