Size of New rounds

Been a lot of talk on Forums Regarding 2 men and a van.Not yet arrived in our office,although the plaaning team are here already and trying to get through as mamy people as possible in the shortest possible time for the RM Drivier change over.From what I can guess the vans will be introduced soon.

But what i want to know ,and I know lots of grey areas etc basicaly the size of rounds.We had pegusus introduced last year,and now most of are rounds are huge already,so am wandering about this 2 men and a van.Do RM seriously expect 2 people to do 3 rounds and oversize and specials.Rumours say you have to take the van home with you and pick your mate up in the morning ?

If RM introduce it in the office what is the official CWU point on this ? and if RM then introduce it through executive action what does the cwu recomend. ?

DO they trial some rounds first or is it all or nothing?

When deciding what can and cannot be done do they listen to the guys on the ground or with Pegusus ignore them.Scary as a number of the planning team have never done a delivery in their life,do not even have a detailed knowledge of the area ?

Yes they expect three rounds into two + collection + packets + specials an absolute disaster does'nt work they don't listen just accuse everyone of not trying. A total bunch of w@nkers (that's management)

yes we was supposed to be one of the first of many `trials` to do C.D.Vans, but soon as i heard the dim didnt want us to call it a `trial` i knew there was something going on (Exec.Action).
there has been no official agreement signed between R.M. and C.W.U.
and R.M. management will not let C.W.U. get fully involved - the planning team should be coming round everyone to sort out best routes ...... so have done a review of the situation and hope the problems are dealt with soon.

this is the list of some of the issues that may arise in your office also.

- Delivery time increased to 4.15 or more - reason being is that you have to take all the mail
including large packets and 1pm specials
so longer to prep also - so if on a part time contract there is no chance of finishing on time - need at least 35hrs+
- Some members have been finishing as late as 5pm on busy days (and DIM will not allow overtime or cut off):no no .
- they have only left a few large vans for firms - as there is no need for others (cause everything taken in C.D.Vans!!!)
- and these are just some of the issues!!
- will not work without national or local agreement !!!!
- so may have to go to rule 13 as many other offices have done allready!!

They have stopped ours today because it is not working but (there is always one)the DIM and his pals have got some thing else up their collective sleeves,it's cost so much money in hours and that is why it has stopped,all i can say is do your job as it should be done and do nout else.

I must be a bit naive as i thought that under S.D.D.The Way Forward and the last pay and modernisation deal the C.W.U and R.M had agreed to deliveries being no more than a maximum of 3.5 hours, so how on earth can anyone be made to do 4.15 hours as this as i thought goes against whats been agreed,surely the office rep area rep and if needs be the divisional rep should be saying a big No to it

Thanks for the info,intresting ,we have a excerlent Rep,so I am sure he will deal with it .It is almost unbeleivable thar RM have not learnt lessons of Pegus,our office is so over budget due to Pegus I would guess we must be in the top 10 for overbudget costs .If RM were a private company ,I would think a employment agencey had shares in us,we are not a Private Company , so it must be sheer stupidity that RM is going to alter all the rounds again.

Cannot see many guys in our office working past normal time,RM will have to bring in Agencey staff to do all cut offs,these guys do not need to do a change over ,due to being Agencey .
At Xmas 1 Agencey took Dim and his lackys out for a VIP night,they were given the red carpet treatment all the way and did not have to pay for anything.The cost to the Agencey
must have been well over a £1000 possibly closer to £2000 just for 1 night!!!
Just shows you how much RM spent with the Agencey now RM are about to repeat all the mistakes of Pegus.

The other thing that defies beleif,the main person involved in our office with Pegus. had never done a round in their life and refused to listen to us when we told them some rounds were impossible ! Now we have the main person of the planning team,who does not know the area and has never done a delivery,this sounds like a prerequirement to be on planning .
