Royal Mail said the UK postal market is declining between 8% and 10% compared to a year ago. It said each percentage point dropped meant a decline of £7m in revenue.

These feckin liers want to come on my 649 call walk. Cut offs more days than not on a 4.5hr walk. Totally knackered at the end of my shift. BUT MAIL IS DROPPING................................MY ARSE :cfo

What I don t understand is that we have just posted 6 months profits of £177 million. Yet we can t have a pay rise because of the decline in post. Yet we are told that we need a private company to come in and invest. What a great bit of PR by Mandelson and Co. On one hand the postal market is s**t, Oh and on the other come on in the waters lovely. Just a real mess now. Embarrassing, unethical and backed up by the worst Government I can remember. :mfo :cfo

Took ours away two weeks after some area knob came to give us that old pony about volumes being down 8% ,at which point some smart arse produce the relevant traffic figures for the previous 2 years ,which showed 5% up year on year

That 'smart arse' should post these figures on here and we could all print it off and show our line managers and CWU rep. Thing is if this is hard evidence then lets use it. These lies by management are becoming ever increasing. Blimey, all I have heard for the last 5+ years is mail volumnes are falling. we moved office 7 months ago
they removed one set from our office early so they would be set up for us moving in
still have no scales

Try delivering the mail to the houses not the stairs

Anyway, back when I was a lad I would deliver to 5000 houses before I got up and then did 29 hours work down the mill before being flogged to death by my father.............and I'd have been thankful
