How come mail not cleared cut offs etc.
just cannot understand what you guys are doing with your TIME? we all know how quiet it is ,RM keeps telling every one how queit it is and how much volumes are down.

Today we had a crap day ,really heavy ,a real late day one of the latest saturdays and very close to cut off time, but why when volumes are falling , somewhere some one not telling the truth. We can make figures to suit any argument
but look at what is happening on the ground for your real answer.

dundee east has between 300 and 500 trays of mail/mailsort/packets left a week after having new duties imposed.

People were told to get tied up at 07 30, leave all mail, flats and packet bags and go, its a disaster.
More of the company men are coming on board now, which is a bonus, :dance

Those free workers were told by double preppers to bugger off, you dont start until 0740 , and your not doing my job for me, with the knock on effect of them cutting off also.

roll on monday, the boss, who usually swaggers about, was last seen mumbling expletives to himself.................as he took a van and conveyed posties and bags all over the sector.......... :funneh :nana :left:

Came in at 8 to find round not thrown in. Managed to get ready for around 10ish and told the manager (sic) that I would not be able to complete (due finished at 1pm). Was told by said manager that he does not understand why people do not finish deliveries. :left:

Well matey, I decide if I want to work overtime not you. And if Royal Mail WANTED me to complete they would have had the round ready or increased my contract. They wont, so f**k them - not my problem I never have enough duty time, its theirs.

:Boo hoo!

And besides, the bloody thieves are always crossing out my OT when I do claim and I then have to fight to get my due deserves. No OT claims from me for the forseable future, they can spin. :wave

You'll spot me on Monday, coming in at my contracted time and pissing off when my contracted hours end. Wish more did the same - it's actually quite thereputic. :chuckle
Run, rabbit run. Dig that hole, forget the sun.
And when at last the work is done. Don't sit down, it's time to dig another one

thats the way to do it work till your time,no overtime and watch the mail gather i spoke to a lad from dundee west and its the same there so it would appear that the posties are fighting back.

At long last posties are cottoning on that job and finish is dead.

Gone are the days of coming in early ,not taking a break ,running around at Seb Coe speed and buggering off home.

Get back early now and they quite within their rights to give you work until your finish time.

So as has been said over and over again.. Come in on time, Take your break, do not run,do not use your own vehicles .
In other words do your job properly and you have done nothing wrong

The trouble is is that Royal Mail runs on job and finish, that is how the mail got cleared whether it was by so called Spanish Practices like ghosting where you blitzed your round and did another in your rounds time and got paid double, that cleared the office but now job and finish has gone what muppet would want to come in early ,run like hell around his round and then take another round out for free?.

And now we see people not wanting to do O.T. or not able to because they are starting an S.A. in an hour, because we now start later. and the mail starts to back up because this way does not work, bring back job and finish and the mail will flow again.

I am also not a fan of the later starts because there is very little gap between the end of a round on a heavy day and the start of an S.A.,because we are delivering to the smell of customers breakfasts and still delivering when they are stuffing their lunch down their throats and we do not get home to our lunch until at least 15.00 which then leaves you with the dilemma of whether to have a early dinner and skip lunch or have a late lunch and a dinner so late you fall asleep in it.

Yes this is the working culture we must adopt now, RM have had it easy for way too long. They wanted "work the hours you are paid for" and work no more whether you complete or not.

I said to a manager once, the worst thing RM could want is staff working to time and going home on time and this is whats happening. :Very Happy

So called declining mail volumes in "their" opinion should make the working day easier but as all delivery staff know, this is just bullshit and there is no sign of declining mail volumes of any sort.

Job and finish is still alive and well in my office. We dont have to go back to the office once weve finished, so I do what needs done and go home when I finish be it early or on time.

Unfortunately this is still going on in my office. Cut offs in the office and yorks full of packets but some are still going home 2hrs before finishing time. So much for everyone starts and finishes at the same time. :no no
