No Seatbelt
Got spotted by my DOM not wearing a seatbelt this morning
I had a timed drop 50 yards from the office so I did'nt bother putting it on. Got back to the office and one of the Delivery Reps told me the DOM had spotted me and will probably give me a bollocking. Is there a specified distance that you can travel without one as I would love to chuck that back in his face
So keep on moving, moving, moving your feet

Re: No Seatbelt
Regardless of the law, I thought that RM/CWU policy was wear at times regardless of the distance?

Re: No Seatbelt
I don't have a problem with wearing a seatbelt, but I was not far from the office on a pedestrian area so speed was not an issue. Oh well if he wants to kick off about it I'll just come off the driving, no big deal, its not like I get paid any extra for it.

Sister k66yla you could try http://www.opsi.gov.uk/si/si2005/20050027.htm" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;
Mines is a bacon butty if it helps - but in all seriousness and in accordance with RM policy wear your seatbelt at all times
"Today’s workplace has become heartless and soulless. Employees are seen as units of labour, automatons, functionaries, objects for achieving designated tasks, and as costs to be minimised."

Re: No Seatbelt
My problem is the oppsite end of the scale.many Drivers of crew busses, beleive they are F1 drivers, and the main job requirement is to get to A-B as quckly as possible regardless of other road usesrs.
OK if wearing a seatbelt ,but try getting 6 average size poties in a Old crew bus with seat belts on weather front passengers or back.

Re: No Seatbelt
You are right. The seat belt arrangement in the vans are awful, its ok if you are slim and have the build of a 10 year old otherwise its near on impossible to put the belts on. As for F1 drivers just call me Sabine Schmitz http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=m1pklvKKnd0Puppetmaster wrote:My problem is the oppsite end of the scale.many Drivers of crew busses, beleive they are F1 drivers, and the main job requirement is to get to A-B as quckly as possible regardless of other road usesrs.

They work in old money these DoM'S say 150 feet they will immediately get rid of 5% year on year so you are down too 142.5 feet still too many for the DoM next he will only employ one legged posties thus making 50% savings!.linkinpark wrote:if you say 50 Yards to you dim dumk66yla wrote:Got spotted by my DOM not wearing a seatbelt this morningI had a timed drop 50 yards from the office so I did'nt bother putting it on. he will wonder why you were driving across fifty back gardens and code you for that as well so it might be best for you say 45.72m (well under the 50m)

Re: No Seatbelt
correct me if i'm wrong but is this not a case of your word against theirs ??
If you say i think your mistaken then thats the end of it, you will sit there going backwards and forwards all day, basiclly because your DOM can't prove their claim and neither can you similarly neither can disprove the other.
