There’s a chance that our office will be offered ‘4 days on 4 days off’ in the near future. Is there anyone on here doing this or could someone shed any light on whether it’d be a good thing to vote for or not.
Basically it seems we’d be doing 10 hour days 4 days a week which would involve a 4hr 45mins walk. I know it sounds horrible but at the moment we’re doing 3 hrs 30 anyway and the thought of 4 days off almost every week is very appealing, anything to get away from that place!!!
Why the f**k would you want to do 4hr 45mins walks!!!!
I'm on a 4 day week,and yes it's great,days off are,mon-tue then wed-thur then fri-sat.
We get 5 day long weekends every 3 weeks fri, sat, sun, mon, tue.
But we're only doing roughly on paper 4hr walks.
You're being done!!!

It's good to get these types of threads, the ridiculous my manager said bollox, so we can reassure ourselves that while the world is falling apart, Royal Mail managers are still being the low-life C***S they have always been. My BFF Clash The daily grind of having to argue your case with an intellectual pigmy of a line manager is physically and emotionally draining.
Is that for everyone or just those on 40 hour contracts? I would jump at the chance to have a 4 x 10 hour week beats. Save money on fuel as well, getting to work.

You ever heard a millionaire say money is the root of all evil? Me either!
I mean I want 4 days on and 4 days off and I want to do a 4 hour delivery (like I'm doing now because of Peagus!) NOT a 4 hour 45 min delivery! Sounds like heaven really does! A super long weekend every 3 weeks! Count me in!

I WAS ON A NIGHT SHIFT WHICH WAS 4 DAYS A WEEK
IT WAS GREAT, A LONG WEEKEND EVERY 3 WEEKS, WHICH MEANT I FINISHED ON THURSDAY MORNING AND DIDNT START AGAIN UNTIL MIDNIGHT ON TUESDAY. AND THE WEEK INBETWEEN MEANT YOU WERE OFF TUES AND WED NIGHTS,
GREAT IF YOU LIKE WATCHING FOOTBALL ON THE TV
Its bad enough doing 5 days of 3.30.I can only imagine how bad 4.45 is,4 days or not.
Also you have to remember 3.30 turns into 4+ so 4.45 could turn into almost 5 and a half hours :)
IF this mean less time inside and do 4 days a week work that sound great, but knowing Royal Mail it will be too much work. But it would suit me due to doing open university course and get more sleep. But I am happy with wallington method for now.
A 4hr 45mins walk in a 10hr shift is near on impossible, like i said we do on the bad days 4hrs and that's cutting it fine, and when the work was up there was regular cut offs.
It aint gonna happen cause it can't happen!!!!
