on duty this morning, delivery, and whilst i was delivering i saw the postie who usually does the round with a bag on his back....
turns out he was working his day off delivering d2d's!!!!!! what the f?!
some people are crazy!!!

we've got one of those. Surprises me that the management don't suggest he does it on a Sunday then 10 of them can come in and supervise on docket

It used to happen in our office as one of the guys used to do another duties door to doors on his day off!! Think he stopped doing it in the end as some weeks it was taking him 3 hours to do them for about 6 notes!!

I've only once in two years not completed at the end of week and that was cos I kept threatning to cut off so was told to leave d2d them days, what they did not realize was by the end of the week it was impossible to complete. They even tried finish next week (no chance not doing 4 some days and then do then sunday while you are off, again a great big fat no. In the end the DOM relented and they failed. Well not quite they booked them as done.

have to be hones t nd say that if I was offered somebodies complete d2d's as extra i'd do them on my day off. Only being on 22.5 hours the extra £20 or so would be really helpful.

I understand how some people view this as dumb but its the desperation of the times

Im doing some one day next week on my week off. Theres about 8 sets of d2ds and it will take me about 3 hours and earn me about 130 quid. Doesn't sound that dumb to me or am I missing something?

Just pray you dont have an accident as it wont be classed as an accident at work,therefore there attitude would be "tough titty" to any time off you may need.I know it sounds far fetched,but the amount of people doing this sort of thing the odds are it will happen to one of them.

In the run up to the new agreement on D2D I would think this practice will disappear. It's time the union got a grip of these negotiations over pay and modernisation including D2D considering it's supposed to have been done and dusted by April 2008. We see all sorts of rubbish on the union web site which has absolutely nothing to do with us.

8 sets of D2D is 3 walks. If you can do that in 3 hours I reckon your walks are dead easy or you are on something.
