change duty day off

i have my own signed for duty but on occassions am asked due to 'operational necessity' to do a different duty for the week. while i understand that this is something that managers can do, am i right in thinking that they can't change your day off unless you are agreeable to it

This used to happen to me all the time. For a long time i just done it but after a while i got cross with it. I eventually told them that I needed my due day off as i had plans made, I must say that they always got some way to give me my due day, if the day off on the other duty suited me or if it was a Saturday that was fine with me.

when i was on reserve duty i got fed up with having a monday off one week then a friday the next and never getting a long weekend.
but since signing for a duty last october my manager has given me my rota day off every week,
once it was changed by an acting manager when my dom was on leave, on his return he told me i was entitled to my regular day off an changed it back for me... he also gave me a print out of my days off for the next 6 months as my wife wanted to get her boss to give her the same days off as me.no she dont work for royal mail she got more sense

If i am moved to a duty with a different day off i always insist on keeping my day off. Never had any problems with it so far!!!
