Just found out my day off is monday which is the bank hoilday , can i get paid for the day off instead of have to take the days hoilday another time ?

Yes you can,you have 2 choices,a day in lieu on next years leave,or a days pay in next weeks wages,ask your Dom and tell him what you would like.

i asked my dom he said i can only have a day next year and cant have the pay as we dont do that in the kent area . he doesnt want to pay the money. lol

Well we get 2 choices in our area i suggest you talk to your local or area rep and find out for sure what you are entitled to as i think your Dom is pulling a fast one.Good luck.

I work in the Kent area and we get the choice so i think he/she is not being quiet as honest as he/she should have been,not sure why you were told that as it's not coming out of his/her pocket!

if your day off falls on a bank holiday you can demand that day off in the same week or even the tuesday if (mon) you do not have to wait until next year also remind him that others will in respect have two days off that week so he is being discrimanate in his actions

spoke to the dom today he said i might be able to have the monday off next week thats the best he could do

Is that in addition to your duty day off - or is it going to be that week's day off? And why shouldn't you be able to enjoy a BH weekend along with everyone else?
