Do I have to do kill offs left on my frame

This seems a bit of a stupid question but I know I'll get an answer to it here. I have been working for RM for about 6 months and worked on a few frames. I currently get put on a particular frame a lot of the time. The postie on this frame (has greater seniority than me obviously) seems to save up his kill offs when he knows he is due a week off and expects me to do them. No one else does this and I always do my kill offs on a daily basis. Am I in the right to tell him to stick them where the sun don't shine when he asks if I have done MY kill offs.

It's part of his duty to do them daily,he could/should get done for willful delay.
Have a word with him,he's taking the piss,if no joy see the rep.

Oh and for the record seniority has nothing to do with it,he should be doing HIS job.

They are required to be done daily as part of the duty. However I don't report my relief when they are left for me as its only 1 or 2 as its not worth the hassle. And what goes around come around especially at the end of month when we have sky mags and my day off is the last day to deliver them.

Thanks for the replies, on two occasionsI have had 40+ to do, had it been 10 or less I wouldn't have bothered posting but it does seem a bit excessive.

What would anyone suggest I do when I come to take over his frame and am lumbered with a good few kill offsand he is on his weeks leave. Do I report it to the dom, just leave them for him when he gets back or none of the above

If you leave them you leave your self open to a conduct code. (well I would in my office since my DOM hates me)! And i'm not gonna give him an inch.

If you know you are doing his duty then go and see him on his last day and say in a friendly way "Don't forget to do you Kill Offs will you mate". He'll get the message if he doesn't he is taking the piss and you should see your rep first before going to a manager. But ultimately if he does not get it after a friendly chat, or a talk from the rep then report him.

This may not be popular but if someone is taking the piss out of other workers and nothing else works - grass him up - he obviously does not understand the term solidarity.

Yes but again it depends on the DOM. Mine has favourites, the ones that use cars, skip breaks, come in early etc... they get away with everything, where as I am pulled for the slightest thing even when it the right thing to do.

In my office it generaly seen as the walk holders responsibility to do all kill offs as his cover is not so familar with the walk with regard to certain names at certain addresess. However the cover should kill off those that are straight forward. Once again we come down to a people managment issue in an enviroment that is managed by managers who dont get the right amount of managment training.

Correct managers should be doing frame checks any way so they should be asking this guy whats he playing at, not you having to tell him or the managers.

A very good point Andyk as that is there job to make sure frames are clear on a daily basis.But im afraid this just does not happen in the real world of Royal Mail
