UKIP stages Chester protest against plans to sell off Royal Mail to private companies

MEMBERS of the Chester branch of the UK Independence Party demonstrated outside the main post office in Chester on Saturday (March 28), protesting at continuing plans to sell off Royal Mail to private companies. UKIP members handed out leaflets to people entering or leaving the post office in St. John Street and to passers-by.

They said that while the Royal Mail had been the most efficient postal service in the world, EU directives have forced Royal Mail to give up most of its profitable bulk business mail to overseas competitors.

UKIP claims that post offices are closing because the EU only allows the British government to provide limited subsidies, which are now being withdrawn, and these closures mean travelling further to find a post office and more queuing.

Paul Nuttall and Michael McManus, UKIP’s lead candidates for the June 4 Euro elections in the North West, came to Chester to offer their support.

Mr Nuttall said: “The current financial crisis proves that there is no shelter to be found in old-fashioned bureaucratic trade blocks.

“Indeed, our economy would be much stronger if we were outside the EU, and able to decide how to run things like our own postal services for ourselves – that is what UKIP offers.”

The trouble with his argument is we have already took the deep dive into the EU and as such too extracite us all would mean pulling out of the EU as deeply as i hate the EU and it's politicians we will never be apart from Europe as the second world war has shown that co-operation between nation's averts disputes and war but sadly our politicians are week and all too easy too concede and for what? !. Is money the need for all their greed i mean two porn film's for the sake of democracy what price for a kitchen plug for a pension for a hard working postman/woman!. NEED I SAY MORE.
