EHS/ATOS

Hi All,
Mods/Admin......This may need to be moved to union room section!!!!!!!!

Not been on the forum for while as i've had a few problems,so i've been off sick and been interviewed by by manager,who refered me to the EHS.I've not got a problem with that,got the phone call from the EHS nurse who inturn refered me for counseling,thats ok with me as well.What i cant get my head round is how someone can counsel me on the phone,i already stated to the EHS nurse i prefered face2face counseling,i've had the first phone counseling session about 40 minutes,the counseller asked me for another counseling session and i agreed,but stated i prefer face2face.

I have now received a letter for another phone session,i do want/need to talk to someone,but i need to talk to a real live person in the flesh surely a counsellor cant get a real grip of anyones situation/problems over the phone,face2face meetings in my opinion must be better for all parties involved.

Your views please.....

Same sort of problem here....
Had my call 2 weeks ago. Since then, no further information. No paperwork. I need to have two operations, and it could be another 3 months till i am back. Worried/stressed and curious as to why i have not seen someone face to face. I just want to get back to work.......

Yeah Atos have a term for it....remote viewing.

It`s where an `advisor`with about as much training as a pot noodle assess or counsels you over the phone using a little know technical gadget that monitors your voice pattern and picks up on peaks and troughs to see if your bullshitting or genuine...you heard it here first people.It`s called the Crozierinator.

That's funny because whenever I asked for help from EHS I was told that I couldn't have any because I wasn't off work

Well, they got their wish and I'm off again, so I guess they HAVE to help me now

They told me not to go back onto my old duty until I'd been signed off by a physio... Told the manager that too but the phrase "in one ear and out the other" springs to mind as I keep mysteriously ending up on my old duty on the rota. It's soon changed.

I spoke to someone initially who I couldn't understand and she asked me if I was fit enough to go back to my old duty. I said I didn't know as I hadn't tried it since the fall so I agreed to give it a go and see how I got on. It made me worse so I got referred back again to someone who said "well it should be better by now".

I was told that the damage I've done is worse than, and will take longer to heal than a break. It's 3.5 months since my fall and I still have aches, pains and the such like in the affected areas. I'm still waiting for physio. In the meantime, no overtime etc as I'm on light duties. It's doing my nut in.

Know what you mean about the over the phone stuff though although when I spoke to someone, I did sort of like the anonymity of being able to just tell them anything without them knowing exactly who you were.

I have been to the Doctors and have been signed off again for a month,my problem is'nt physical,if it were might be easier to sort out,i have asked for a face2face with a counsellor,so lets see what happens and at a guess,my manager may want to have me in for a chat as well.

When I wanted a face to face interview a couple of years ago, I was told it would
take about six weeks, but by the time it was due I didn't need it, and cancelled.

RM have realized it costs more , they don't do contradictions or joined up thinking , at one time they did have their own OHS staff but RM wanted their cake and be able to eat it too .

The " interesting " bit with outsourcing and the " extended arm " which is a common corporate practice , is exactly who is liable in case of litigation . People have reported certain ATOS doctors to the General Medical Council , also there can be " interesting issues " at Industrial Tribunals .

just in case no one is aware but isnt atos used in all public workforces
what happens if we are privatised ?
who has the figure on how much it costs for atos over 50 mill
for what jobs for corupt private sector and jobs for the boys
they do not help us from what i see they only encourage over phonelines to get back to work

it was all over the papers , only ATOS were acting in the complete opposite way with incapacity benefit claimants with the DHSS , in case they had too many complaints .

Two of their Doctors decided to blow the whistle on everything and take ATOS to tribunal .

Yeah but one of the Doctors involved in the case whilst bringing up the fact that Atos was forcing doctors to let people through onto incapacity to keep the contract from the goverment,rather lets himself down by whinging on about the fact that he is sueing them over loss of earnings at £5000 a week,nice work if you can get it, I`d happily sign up Chris Foy as disabled for that a week.
